- Are you using too much liquid within your slow cooker meals? One of the most common questions I’ve asked is why slow cooker meals aren’t as flavour packed as traditionally cooked dinners. Are quite often the reason is you are using too much liquid within your Cook. This just dilute the flavour and even if you thicken up the sauce, you are just thickening up a pretty flavourless broth. I cook in a 3.5 L pot and unless I’m actually aiming for a really saucy dish and quite often even 100 mil of liquid is more than enough to get everything in the pot going. If you love your slow Cooker or know someone that needs help with it sending them my way and make sure to hit the follow button. #Slowcooker #crockpot #slowcookertips #slowcookerrecipes #crockpotmeals

- Here are my slow cooker tips Part 2 Do you love your slow cooker? Well here’s part 2 on the correct way to use it to its full potential? I’m gonna show you loads of banging recipes and tips and tricks to help you on your way. Here are my top five slow cooker tips to make cooking banging recipes a breeze. 1: As a general rule of thumb it takes half a time to cook a recipe on the high setting as it does the low setting. So if a recipe states to cook for 6 hours or low, you can cook it on the high setting for three. 2: slow cooker is a great way to use the so-called inexpensive cuts of meat, something like beef shin, lamb shank, oxtail and Pork shoulder which are unbelievably delicious but require a little bit more love are perfect for the slow cooker. Just put the lid on and let that gentle heat create the magic. 3: Always add dairy at the end, ingredients like, cream and milk, added at the start of the cooking process can curdle, so always add just before serving, there will be enough residual heat within the pot to heat this through. 4: To brown or not to brown? This is a question. I get asked all of the time, as you can see from my recipes, I quite often don’t bother. Yes, browning your meat and cooking your onions beforehand can add an extra dimension of flavour to your cook however for me the ease of just dumping everything into the slow cooker pot out ways that process. Trust me, I’ve done loads of testing over the years on these recipes and it doesn’t make that much of a difference in my opinion. 5: Prepare ahead of time. The reason most of us use a slow cooker is for convenience, so why not? Prepare your slow cooker meal the night before? Ingredients can be popped into a container or bag ready to dump into the slow cooker pot the following morning before sticking on to cook throughout the day. #Slowcooker #slowcookerrecipes #crockpot #crockpotmeals #slowcookerseason
- Do you love your slow cooker but struggle for inspiration and the correct way to use it? I’m gonna show you loads of tips and tricks to help you on your way. Here is part 1 of slow cooker masterclass to make cooking banging recipes in your slow cooker a breeze. Tips Below 👇🏼🔥👏🏼 1: you don’t actually need lots of liquid to cook within your slow cooker pot, quite often even 100 mil of stock or wine will be more than enough to create a delicious sauce for your meal, when you add too much liquid, it will dilute the flavour and it won’t be the rich flavours you were expecting. 2: did you know you can bake in your slow cooker? Recipes like my banging sticky toffee pudding are real family favourite. A tea towel tucked under the lid whilst cooking will stop any liquid evaporating in the pot from recycling back into what you’re cooking. 3: do not under any circumstance lift the lid unnecessarily, a stir halfway through can sometimes benefit but every time you lift the lid you add time to your cook. I know it it’s nice to peak but trust me it’s not worth it. Just wait until the end. 4: slow cookers or an incredibly energy efficient way of cooking. Costing a fraction what it takes to run conventional fan oven. So if you’re looking to save money on your energy bills throughout the year, then this is a great way to cook. 5: if you find your sauce isn’t thick enough then you can use a cornflour slurry, added to the end of the cooking time will do the trick. It’s a great tip to have on standby in case you’ve added too much liquid. #slowcooker #crockpot #slowcookerrecipes #slowcookermeals #slowcookerseason
