- MICROWAVE CHEESEBURGER. Try it, we dare you 🍔#microwave #cheeseburger
- Welcome to this week's struggle meal! Last week, I meal prepped some bone broth rice and put it in the freezer for a night like tonight when I don't have time to cook it from scratch. Salmon was on sale, so I popped it right on top and seasoned with some soy sauce. Now the crazy part: I covered with the vented lid and microwaved the whole thing for 4 minutes. Yes, you can cook fish in the microwave. Give it a good mash (Hi @emilymariko!) and top with Kewpie, Sriracha and some nori sheets. #salmonrice #emilymariko #freezer #frozendinner
- What were YOU doing during the east coast earthquake today?!! I was minding my business meal prepping some bone broth rice because you can never be too prepared when it comes to having easy, ready-to-heat-and-eat ingredients like rice on hand at a moment's notice. I made it in the microwave which usually gives me 22 minutes of free time to clean my kitchen or pop in a load of laundry. But today it gave me 22 minutes to scroll Twitter to see if anyone else felt the earth shake. Once the rice was done, I popped it into the freezer for a day when I have absolutely ZERO free time. Tune back in next week to see what I do with it! #earthquake #rice #bonebroth
- Microwave mango sticky rice!!? Yes, the rumors are true. Get the full recipe on cookanyday.com #mangostickyrice #stickyrice #thaidessert
- Our founder is celebrating Lunar New Year with speedy sticky rice with Chinese sausage! If this sounds like something you would only order from a dim sum restaurant, think again! It's incredibly simple to make fantastic sticky rice in an Anyday dish-no soaking required - thanks to the microwave. More time to celebrate with family? Yes, please. ❤️
- Word on the street is that there's a big football game coming up this weekend 👀... While we haven't decided who we're rooting for yet, we're definitely using it as an excuse to make DIP. More specifically, super cheesy queso. And so we don't miss a minute of the halftime show, we're saving time by making it in the microwave. Check out cookanyday.com for the recipe and tons more game day snack ideas.
- @nytcooking recently went on record to say that the microwave is the most foolproof way to cook fish. And to that, we say, it’s about time! Let me show you the best way to do it: season a salmon filet with agave, soy sauce, garlic and grated ginger. Cover with a vented Anyday lid, then steam in the microwave on medium power for just 3 minutes. Make sure to spoon over the rest of the sauce and garnish with sliced scallions. Look how perfectly cooked and flaky this is? And no fishy smell whatsoever…
- TOMATO PASTE HACK. Want to save money? Stop going to the grocery store for ingredients you probably already have! But seriously, don't you hate when a recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and you end up with a half full can sitting in the back of your fridge until you realize you forgot about it and have to toss it in the trash.......? Yeah, me too. Next time, skip the waste. Simply grab a can of tomato paste and open it from BOTH sides. Slide the tomato paste out (this part is so satisfying ), then spoon it into @cookanyday 2-tablespoon freezer trays. Smooth it out, pop on the silicone lid, and tuck it in the freezer until you're ready to use it. Once they're frozen, I like to pop them in a @stasherbag so that I can use my trays again right away! Now, whenever a recipe calls for tomato h paste, l've got it in the bag, literally. #tomatopaste #freezer
- Craving a healthy dinner but have no clue where to start? This HASSELBACK SALMON takes less than 5 minutes to steam to perfection in the microwave - yes, seriously. Slice the salmon and add wedges of lemon, and fresh dill. Cover with the lid and steam at half Power for 4-ish minutes, and done. Serve with a salad or reheated frozen rice; you'll have a healthy dinner in no time.
- Sick day bone broth pastina Whenever I’m sick, I crave a cozy, comforting bowl of pastina. But I have 2 secrets: 1: I cook it directly in bone broth, for extra protein and nutrients to help me heal. 2: I cook it in the microwave because all I have to do is press a button and in 5-6 minutes, it's done. Pop it in a bowl with some parm and you'll be on the road to recovery in no time. #pastina #sickday #bonebroth
- We had a blast during our virtual cooking class with the pros at @177milkstreet last night! In case you missed it, here's a brilliant recipe from the menu: microwave milk poached chicken… The technique is mind- blowingly simple and we love it so much we published the recipe on our website, cookanyday.com
- This year, I’m making it a habit to shop my freezer, fridge and pantry first BEFORE spending money at the grocery store on a list of things I don’t need. You never know what hidden gems you’ll find — like frozen rice that I stored in my freezer trays, Trader Joe’s wontons, Soyaki sauce, and a head of broccoli. Plus, this dinner involves absolutely zero prep work. You just have to pop it in an Anyday dish, and microwave until piping hot. Drizzle with some @momofukugoods soy sauce, chili crunch and scallions and dinner is ready in minutes. #traderjoes #traderjoeswontons #frozenrice
- I recently learned this trick: Microwave your spaghetti squash before cutting it which makes it so much easier to cut. Oh, and cut it widthwise instead of lengthwise for longer spaghetti strands! Because spaghetti squash can be a bit boring when eaten by itself, I add about 1/2 cup of coconut milk to each half, then season with salt, garlic powder, chili flakes, and turmeric. I top it all with currants and microwave it for 10 minutes to cook then done! I am definitely never roasting a spaghetti squash for an hour ever again now that I know how quick and easy it is to make in the microwave. #spaghettisquash
- French onion soup dip is one of my favorites and this is an easy-from-scratch recipe if you want to raise the bar in your appetizer game. Place 3 cups of sliced onion in the Medium Deep Anyday dish, add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (this will help caramelize and tenderize the onions!), 2 tablespoons of butter, and some thyme. cook uncovered for 10-12 mins, then strain and allow to cool. Mix the onions with some sour cream and top with chives or, if you feel adventurous use some everything bagel topping and crispy parmesan crackers.
- These sparkling rosé jello shots are a MUST-make for your New Year’s Eve celebration. Add vodka, sugar, lemon, and gelatin to an Anyday dish and microwave until it dissolves about 30 seconds. Add the sparkling wine and make sure it’s cold so you can trap as many bubbles as possible! Pour the liquid into an Anytime Freezer Tray and refrigerate until set. Once ready, place the tray in a hot water bath for like 30 seconds, then flip and gently push until the jello shots pop out. Cheers to the New Year in this classy, fun, way! 🥂 ✨ 🍾 #jelloshots #proseccojello #champagnejelloshots
- As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, there’s nothing I love more than a cozy glass of hot buttered rum. And thanks to this smart tip from Abigail, I learned I can make a bit batch, freeze it, and have a treat whenever I want! Simply mix butter, sugar, vanilla, spices, and salt, then spoon into two tablespoon Anytime freezer trays. Freeze until solid. When the craving strikes, pop out a puck, pour some spiced rum over it, then top with hot water for the COZIEST winter nightcap.
- If you thought creme brûlée was only something you could order for dessert at a restaurant, think again. I made this chai creme brûlée, inspired by @diningwithskyler, at home using my favorite kitchen tool: the microwave. All you need to do is add cream, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla and a few chai bags in the deep Anyday dish and microwave for 2-3 minutes until gently simmered, then let steep. Once fragrant, add egg yolks and split the mixture into Small Dishes. Microwave on low power for 4-5 minutes until the custard jiggles slightly. Then cool completely, top with sugar, and torch for that classic crunchy topping!
- These simple caramel pecan bites are to die for — let me show you how to make them. Place the butter, dark brown sugar, heavy cream, and kosher salt in an Anyday dish and microwave for about 2 minutes and you’ll have a magical no-stir caramel in practically no time— I’m not kidding. Pour the caramel over the pecan halves and let them set. then cover with melted chocolate with a little bit of coconut oil. Once the candy sets in the freezer, they’re ready to enjoy.
- If you like cheesy potatoes, I have the ULTIMATE HACK for you. These delicious Boursin potatoes, inspired by @sarah.frances.green can be made in under 15 minutes thanks to the microwave. Steam the potatoes with a little water in the microwave until fork tender. While they cool add cream, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne, and the secret ingredient: Boursin. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the cream is hot and the cheese is softened, then whisk to combine. Slice the potatoes, pour the creamy cheese, then top with more cheese. Bake in the oven at 500 until golden brown, melty and bubbly. #microwaverecipes #scallopedpotatoes #cheesypotatoes
