- SAVE THIS IF THIS IS YOU AND KEEP READING. So while these could be due to other reasons, if you’re experiencing all three in a context where you have felt persistently overworked, overstimulated, and overmasked, it may be time to think about what to do next. 1) chronic fatigue: RADICAL REST. Limit your functioning to essential tasks, prioritize sleep, and be mindful of caffeine use. 2) emotional regulation: take moments to process on your own if possible. Use deep breathing, movement, and delaying the response if applicable. This is the hardest one for me, which is why I wrote Too Sensitive (it gives you step by step how to move through these moments). 3) cognitive clouding: this can be the result of many things but an almost immediate thing that helps is reducing stimulation. Shut off the TV, wear headphones, draw curtains. Allow your nervous system to get back to its baseline. Again these can be a luxury for some people as we often feel like we are suspended in a burnout stage for our survival. But start to use what you can to get through some of these moments. ❤️
- In a world full of roughness, find the people that feel cradle you with gentleness ❤️
- Dear Scott, this video is for you. I hope you’re able to take this information and potentially learn freely about RSD because I think it’s something we all could benefit from understanding better. Just writing the book helped give me more clarity and grace and usable steps of what to do when I felt destabilized by big emotional waves. Which honestly is probably where this video is stemming from but it’s mostly bc I don’t want you to miss what is in there because you think a robot made it. IT WAS ME I JUST REALLY LOVE EXAMPLES AND THE WORD HOWEVER. I also really, really loved a good em-dash but have pulled that entirely because AI has taken that over. If you want to compare writing styles, my other book Self-Care for People with ADHD is the same. Just a rambling, over expressive ADHD deciphered text and that was done before AI was really a thing 😂
- You guys. We did it. We made Too Sensitive a NEW YORK TIMES BEET SELLER!! This is for everyone who was told they were too sensitive, too much, too fragile. This is for everyone felt like they had to hide big feelings. Thank you for believing in this the way you have. This is a dream come true. #adhd
- As someone who has listened to @Noah Kahan like a personal diary, don’t DO THIS. Man it’ll get so messy.
- This book is for anyone who has felt derailed and nonfunctional because their emotions were so overwhelming. And yes I’m talking about grief and loss and breakups and career disappointments but I’m also talking about the smaller emotional moments that suck you under: the miscommunications, the friendship breakdowns, the look of disappointment that haunts you for months. If this sounds familiar, this book is for brains like ours ❤️
- And that’s on being anemic…
- I don’t know if I’m alone in this but being in a state where my emotions have shot up and down so rapidly and unpredictably melted my brain. I feel like my body is made of lead, my stomach won’t stop flipping, and I have a headache that is pulsating behind my eyes. I’m forever grateful but feel like this is exactly the reason we talk about emotional sensitivity. It shows up in your body too.
- #greenscreenvideo ONLY GET THE ONE WITH MY NAME AS THE AUTHOR. WHY IS THIS ALLOWED?!
- Too Sensitive came into the world today and I can’t even leave my hotel room. #adhd #rejectionsensitivedysphoria
- @Strand Bookstore you will forever have my heart. Thank you to everyone in nyc that came to support Too Sensitive and talk about feeling deeply. Solid crying all around.
- @CBS Mornings you were an egg-covered dream. Thank you for talking about RSD ❤️
- I’m in the air for 2.5 hours. I won’t have WiFi and I’m going to try not to spin out. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this weird journey and who believes in Too Sensitive ❤️
- When @Mel Robbins wants to talk about RSD and ADHD, you TALK ABOUT IT. Thank you for giving me the space to talk about something that I think could help so many (and helping bring Too Sensitive into the world!!)
- Emotional dysregulation from ADHD can look like depression. Emotional dysregulation from ADHD can look like anxiety. BUT ITS FROM ADHD. If you’ve ever experienced this, you need to read Too Sensitive. It’s the guide I wish I had as I was navigating these ups and downs with literally zero clinical guidance, because you DESERVE to understand your brain. No gatekeeping here.
- #duet with @Mel Robbins thank you for letting me talk about RSD in ADHD. I’m so grateful this is part of the conversation ❤️❤️❤️❤️
- So many people respond to this with "THAT HAS A NAME??" Thank you to the amazing @ParisHilton for bringing RSD and ADHD front and center and for supporting Too Sensitive. I'm proud to be the very first guide written by a psychiatrist on this topic. I hope it brings light and gentleness to anyone who knows how this feels. You can order Too Sensitive today anywhere books are sold!!
- Too Sensitive is THE emotional sensitive persons guidebook. I literally have the electronic version in my pocket. I feel like my whole life I wish I had explicit steps of what to do when I felt a certain way, WELL HERE IT IS. Bite-sized and ADHD friendly!!
- 7And if it’s more than one, feel free to preorder “Too Sensitive” bc I think you’ll love it… #adhd #rejectionsensitivedysphoria
- I don’t know how you’re supposed to feel (because this is such a different experience) but I’m starting to get to a spot where I feel like right on the brink of crying and I think I’m just super anxious. It’s weird because this book is about ADHD and emotional sensitivity and I know from writing it that my emotional part of my brain is just working overtime. I’m gonna go try to walk it out. ❤️Sasha
- Why you live far away? @Dr. Dhivya Srinivasa
- And that’s on being distracted with ADHD…
- I don’t think this is too much to ask. But this might be the people-pleasing, eldest daughter variant of my ADHD….
- Raise your hand if I’m talking about you… #adhd #rejectionsensitivedysphoria
