When I created this Siva, I wanted to show that dance doesn’t have to look a certain way to be beautiful. You can dance sitting down. You can dance standing up. You can dance in whatever way your body allows you to. Because dance is for everyone. And especially in Polynesian dance, the story isn’t only in the feet. It’s in your hands. It’s in your eyes. It’s in your expression. It’s in the way you move your body and connect with the music. Our hands can speak when words can’t. And I think that’s one of the most beautiful things about Siva — you don’t have to be able to do every movement perfectly to tell a story. You just have to feel it. So this is your reminder that there is always a way to move, to create, and to express yourself. Because the story is still there… even when the way we tell it looks a little different. Apparently, I have a recurring habit of thinking I know what’s God’s plan is for me 🤦🏽‍♀️🤪 I’ll be over here like, “Okay God, I think I’ve got it figured out…” And He’s like, “That’s cute. No.” 😂 Time and time again, I’ve anticipated what I thought my life was supposed to look like, only to have God completely reroute me. And honestly? His plans have always been greater than anything I could’ve planned for myself. Sometimes the closed doors hurt. Sometimes the waiting makes no sense. Sometimes I really wish He’d just send me the itinerary. 😬 But I’m learning that I don’t need to know the whole plan to trust the One who does.🤍 So if you’re in a season where things aren’t going the way you imagined, maybe this is your reminder to loosen your grip, trust God a little more, and let Him surprise you. Stop trying to predict the plan. Start trusting the Planner. 🤍 What’s one thing you’re learning to surrender to God right now? #faith #godisgood #life #joy

And might I add he’s even seen people who were just sitting across the street watching their neighbors mow their lawn & they lost their sight from something that flung straight into their eyes from their neighbors lawn … 😬 So we take all the precautions over here 👍🏽 #eyes #doctor #opthalmology #medicine
🕊️September 21st, 2021- This day will forever be engraved in my mind. 5 years ago on this day, while expecting our first child & son, Tumanako on my 18 week appointment we found out that our baby had no more heartbeat. 💔 This was a type of grief I never imagined experiencing and as someone with chronic illnesses my first thought was, what did I do wrong? Why couldn’t my body do this? Did I overdo myself? What could I have done differently? And those thoughts were consuming me. Because this was our first child and knowing because of my chronic illnesses that they both increased the chances of difficulty during pregnancy we decided to get the early testing done in pregnancy at 12 weeks to find out the gender and also of any abnormalities. It was Fathers Day when we told our families we were expecting and these videos just show the joy that we all experienced. We had planned to share two gifts we were sending our dads, one was was an actual gift and the last was a photo of baby. 🥹 When we found out it was boy, we knew his name had to be Tumanako meaning Hope in Māori and at that time to us- Hope because of the miracle and joy he was bringing into our family but little did we know that God was truly preparing us to feel and experience Hope in a whole deeper level. I have had grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins pass away but now having my own son joining them on the other side of the veil- it deepened my understanding and testimony of the Plan of Salvation knowing that my baby is waiting for us on the other side in the Hands of our Savior, knowing that he hyped his little brothers on before each of them joined us earth side and knowing that our reunion with him is going to be so sweet. The motivation to live and cling to my Savior, knowing my baby is with Him- pushes me to live the gospel fully and treasure every moment I have here on earth with my family, my sons, my husband and my loved ones. My son Tumanako will forever live up to his name of bringing Hope to me and oh how eternally grateful I am for the knowledge to know that I will be reunited with him and be with my family forever 🤍#tumanako #miscarriage #hope #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints
Happy Sabbath 🤍 A little reminder for the new week: dance, laugh, sing, and let yourself feel JOY. 🤎✨ Life is too short to hold back the things that make your heart happy. Choose joy. Choose gratitude. Choose the moments that make you laugh until your cheeks hurt. Your joy is worth making room for. 🌺💃🏽 Go into this week with a lighter heart and Now go dance your way into a beautiful week. 🤎✨ Dress from: @pacificwaygiftshop #siva #samoa #polytiktok🇦🇸🇼🇸🇹🇴🇫🇯 #polynesian
Māori Language Week always makes me reflect on how much of my culture lives in the little things. 🤍 I don’t speak te reo Māori, and I wish I knew more. But I carry certain words so close to my heart—especially the ones that became part of our family. Ariki — Chief. Kaitiaki — Guardian. Tumanako — Hope. Those aren’t just names to me. They’re pieces of our story. My boys carry their Māori heritage in their names, and our angel baby carries a name that will forever remind us of the hope we have in our eternal family. 🤍 And now, every time I dance, I’m reminded that I get to keep learning, keep connecting, and give my children a little more of where they come from. Maybe I don’t know all the words yet… but I’m so grateful I get to pass on the ones I do. 🌿🤎 #maori #newzealand #poi #polytiktok🇦🇸🇼🇸🇹🇴🇫🇯 #tewikiotereomaori
There’s something so beautiful about watching people come together to celebrate what makes each of us unique. 🤍 Tonight we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at our ward, and my heart was so full seeing so many different countries, cultures, languages, traditions, and stories represented — all coming together as one to learn from, love, and celebrate one another. 🌎❤️ As a Polynesian woman, I know how deeply culture connects us to our families, our ancestors, and who we are. And I will forever be grateful that my mission gave me the gift of learning Spanish. What started as a language I was learning to communicate with others became a beautiful part of my life that I get to carry with me today. Now, I get to share that language with my boys. I get to teach them to appreciate the cultures around them, to be curious about people who may look, speak, or live differently than we do, and to understand that our differences are something to celebrate — not divide us. What a gift it is to live in a world filled with so many beautiful cultures, and what a gift it is to raise our children to love and learn from them. 🥹❤️ So grateful for nights like these — where we get to celebrate not just one culture, but the beauty of all of us coming together. 🌎✨ #hispanic #spanish #celebrate #cultures

Bedtime with two little ones = chaos 😂 So when we finally start winding down, you better believe there’s a snack involved. @PiratesBooty got a NEW look + even MORE cheese 🧀 and it’s become our go-to for those end-of-the-day snack moments. The kids get some, Mom gets some… because after surviving bedtime, I deserve cheese too. 😂 Might as well end the day with a little crunch + a LOT of cheese. ✨ #snacks #toddlermom #puffs #cheese
Poi can be soooo frustrating! Especially if you’re just learning & starting new. Poi will make you want to give up before you even start. Trust me, that was me….🫠 But I’ve come to learn, you just have to have fun, practice & disciplineD It teaches you that you just gotta roll with the punches or in this case, hits in the faces & just keep going because you’re gonna get it! But anything worth the effort, takes time- so give yourself the time & grace & I promise you you will be amazing ✨🔥🤍 #poi #newzealand #maori #polytiktok🇦🇸🇼🇸🇹🇴🇫🇯
Respectfully if your workout sessions don’t look like this, I don’t want your advice 🤣🤪🫠 Nah I know my kids are on another level energy, but I’m proud of myself for showing up because these guys ARE my reason & I’ve been using them as an excuse this whole time to not better myself! NO MORE 👏🏽👏🏽 Mama is locked in & if you want to follow along this journey with me follow @Selesitila | Glow Up Era ✨ 💪🏽🔥 #health #journey #fitness #humor

One day, I’ll miss the little hands reaching for rocks. I’ll miss the tiny footsteps beside mine. The muddy shoes. The “look, Mom!” every few seconds. The ordinary little adventures. Because time doesn’t ask us if we’re ready to let these moments go. So for now, I’ll slow down. I’ll soak it in. I’ll remember. Because someday, these are the moments I’ll wish I could come back to. 🤍 #motherhood #boymom #memories #family

#onthisday Man yesterday was a hard day mentally for me. My mind just felt so overwhelmed & I know it’s so many things out of my control & it just continued to consume me. I had planned out my day that after work that I would do a dance video but I felt like I had so much to do, that doing a dance wouldn’t be productive & not as important. But thank goodness I finally convinced myself to just give myself 10 minutes to do the dance & oh how those 10 minutes grounded me & brought me back to what was important, what really mattered. It’s like my mind cleared & the load I was carrying from the day was lifted. Dancing has and always will be my passion & a love for me & oh how fun it is to do that & share it with you all! 🥹 This is your reminder to do something you love 🥰🤍 #dance #polynesian #love #blessed
