Selesitila HarveyMāori Language Week always makes me reflect on how much of my culture lives in the little things. 🤍 I don’t speak te reo Māori, and I wish I knew more. But I carry certain words so close to my heart—especially the ones that became part of our family. Ariki — Chief. Kaitiaki — Guardian. Tumanako — Hope. Those aren’t just names to me. They’re pieces of our story. My boys carry their Māori heritage in their names, and our angel baby carries a name that will forever remind us of the hope we have in our eternal family. 🤍 And now, every time I dance, I’m reminded that I get to keep learning, keep connecting, and give my children a little more of where they come from. Maybe I don’t know all the words yet… but I’m so grateful I get to pass on the ones I do. 🌿🤎 #maori #newzealand #poi #polytiktok🇦🇸🇼🇸🇹🇴🇫🇯 #tewikiotereomaori
