Selesitila HarveyThere’s something so beautiful about watching people come together to celebrate what makes each of us unique. 🤍 Tonight we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at our ward, and my heart was so full seeing so many different countries, cultures, languages, traditions, and stories represented — all coming together as one to learn from, love, and celebrate one another. 🌎❤️ As a Polynesian woman, I know how deeply culture connects us to our families, our ancestors, and who we are. And I will forever be grateful that my mission gave me the gift of learning Spanish. What started as a language I was learning to communicate with others became a beautiful part of my life that I get to carry with me today. Now, I get to share that language with my boys. I get to teach them to appreciate the cultures around them, to be curious about people who may look, speak, or live differently than we do, and to understand that our differences are something to celebrate — not divide us. What a gift it is to live in a world filled with so many beautiful cultures, and what a gift it is to raise our children to love and learn from them. 🥹❤️ So grateful for nights like these — where we get to celebrate not just one culture, but the beauty of all of us coming together. 🌎✨ #hispanic #spanish #celebrate #cultures
