- You can use my code DoodleNiko10 for 10% off on the @ohuhuart website 🌸 It works on all products! This was actually my first time ever drawing on black paper and it turned out to be such a satisfying experience ✨ I used the new Waikiki Acrylic Markers by Ohuhu and I was genuinely surprised by how vibrant and opaque the colors are. The paint goes on super smoothly, the ink flow feels really even, and the matte finish looks beautiful on dark paper. 📓 The pumping system is so satisfying to use 😌 Seeing the bright colors pop against the black background made the whole process feel so fun and different from what I usually do. 🧡 #markerart #acrylicmarkers #portraitdrawing
- excuse me but the one piece casting??? they did not miss once 🧡 here’s a little fanart drawing of @emily rudd as Nami created with alcohol markers and colored pencils #sketchbook #portraitart #fanart #onepiece
- Someone asked in my last Q&A if I ever do line work before coloring - and as you can see, sometimes I do 🖊️✨ It really depends on my mood and the effect I’m going for. Changing things up keeps me from getting bored and often leads to new solutions (and a lot of happy accidents). That’s what sketchbooks are for after all 📖🤗 ✏️ MATERIALS: • Rendr Sketchbook • Prismacolor colored pencils - Neon Orange and Neon Pink • Ohuhu colored fine line pens • Ohuhu Honolulu alcohol markers • Ohuhu Nahuku markers ••• #sketchbook #portraitsketch #drawing mixed media art
- Why start a portrait with a green base? It’s inspired by a classical technique called ‘verdaccio’, where artists used a muted green underpainting to build realistic skin tones. It helps to: - tone down the reds - build more natural shadows and skin tones – keep the colors from getting too saturated Skin isn’t a flat color - it’s slightly translucent, so the layers underneath affect what you see on the surface. That’s why letting a cool green sit underneath makes the final colors feel more natural and complex. My version is usually more olive than traditional verdaccio, but the idea is the same: cool tones sitting underneath warm layers and peeking through, creating a pleasant, subtle contrast 🍋🟩🧡⭐️ • If you’d like to learn more about Portraits and Color, I invite you to my Gumroad where you can get my ebooks and learning bundles ☺️📖 • Use the code INSTAFRIENDS for 10% off ✨ _____________ MATERIALS: - HB pencil - Ohuhu alcohol markers: Lime green Yellowish Green Raw Cashew Cantaloupe Golden Champagne Viola Sakura Lemon Chiffon - Ohuhu fine line pens - Holbein Artists colored pencils - Ohuhu Nahuku Acrylic Markers - Black ballpoint pen - Sensations #sketchbook #drawingprocess #portraitart
- 2026 has been so hectic already… it somehow feels like March and June at the same time 😫 Snuck in a quick portrait between tasks: • sketchbook -> Rendr Crescent • markers -> Ohuhu Honolulu & Karin Realbrush • colored pencils -> Holbein Artists’ #sketchbook #drawingprocess #portraitart
- They’re acrylic brush markers called Pigment Realbrush from @karinmarkers 🖌️ and they’re my favorite markers for painting fur and feathers. Their brush tip is built like a real brush - from individual flexible filaments, which makes the strokes feel natural but still very precise. So I can draw thicker strokes, but also really thin, tiny lines that follow the natural direction of all the fluffy details. As you might notice, the colors are not 100% opaque, which allows me to layer them, create subtle transitions, and build softness gradually. They come in 84 colors, from greys and neutrals to very vibrant shades, but you can choose ready-made sets like “Nature Colors” or “Pastel Colors”, or even buy single markers to start with… so you can choose what works best for your art. 🧡 #sketchbook #animaldrawing #karinmarkers #artsupplies

- I love messy sketchbook pages, but sometimes I just want less frustration, fewer surprises, and more satisfaction while drawing. Here’s my little way of bringing some order into the chaos 🐥 1. I start by arranging my references digitally on my iPad (Here I used photos from Unsplash and Pexels). 2. Then I lightly plan the page with simple pencil shapes, just to mark space for each study — no details yet. 3. Once everything fits, I can focus on one drawing at a time, sketching and coloring each study without rushing. 4. Once the drawings start coming together, I fill the empty spaces between them with simple shapes and color. It helps balance the page and visually connect everything into one composition. Not every sketchbook page needs to (or should) look like this, but if you’re feeling a bit stuck or overwhelmed, this can be a very satisfying way to reset 🦉 #sketchbooking #drawing #mixedmedia
