- Sharing some lessons I learned the hard way, so you don’t have to! I wish I knew this stuff early on in my career, don’t make the same mistakes I did 🫶🏻 1️⃣Emotions/feelings are liars, stop believing them. Man I wish I learned how to witness my emotions instead of letting them to control me. There are so many days that will bring frustration or emotions that make you want to quit or not show up that day. Learning to accept and witness those feelings without letting them take over is a skill I wish I had in my younger years and in my experience is cruicial to performance. 2️⃣More isn’t always better. I really struggled with this for a long time. But training smarter, not harder is crucial to longevity in sport. I spent so many years thinking I had to do more reps, stay on the track longer, add in miles outside of training to get better, but that ended up hindering my recovery and in turn my performances, causing overuse injuries and burnout. I wish I learned sooner that being rested and healthy is way more important than that extra set of reps or training session you wanted to get in to feel more prepared. Think quality over quantity💪🏻 3️⃣The most important muscle to train is your mind. I can’t stress this enough! At some point everyone is talented and has the physical capabilities. What will set you a part is your mental strength and resilience. Work with a mental coach weekly (if possible) and use things like meditation and mindfulness practice daily to build train your mind how to subconsciously think in training and competition. 4️⃣The weight room is where progress is made. I spent so time slacking in the gym right room instead of pushing myself, staying at weights that were comfortable, or fearful of lifting heavier because I was scared of getting bulky. Wrong. Pushing yourself in the weight room will improve performance. Take it seriously. Drop a 💪🏻 if one of these hit home for you! Or send this to someone who needs to hear it! And lmk in the comments if you want more like this🫶🏻 #relatablecontent #lessonslearned #protips #olympian #trackandfield #athletetraining #athletemotivation #athletelifebelike #athletetips #athletesoftiktok

- A little Monday motivation story time✨ It’s so fun to look back at the journey I have been on and how much I have learned along the way. I have even asked former coaches in my life from college if they ever expected me to become an Olympian…And their answer? Not a chance🤣 It really is amazing what belief in yourself, a lot of hard work and some amazing resources to learn from can do. I struggled for so long not knowing how to get my body to optimal performance, feeling like I was doing everything right but not getting the results I wanted and working so hard to get. Finding and learning from my mental and metabolic coaches changed my life and I fully believe is the reason I became an Olympian. I gained so much knowledge and finally got my body and mind to peak performance💪🏻 What worked for me? •Daily mindfulness and meditation practice to train my mind in competition •Daily journaling focusing on my goals and execution •A nutrition protocol specific to my body •A supplement protocol to balance my hormones and deficiencies •100% dedication to my goals •A hell of a lot of hard work Take it from someone who wasn’t always the most talented, if I can do it so can you 🫶🏻✨ #mondaymotivation #fitnessmotivation #olympian #fitnessjourney #transformationjourney
- I found this recipe from @lilsipper and I promise you it is gold! Everyone I have made these for can’t get enough of them…I recommend doubling the recipe because they will go quick🤣 They are like a healthy Samoa’s Girl Scout cookie, which are my absolute fave! I pride myself on finding healthy alternative recipes when I’m in training, so I never feel like I’m depriving myself of things I enjoy and this is a staple in my diet to satisfy my sweet tooth😋 Try it out and let me know how you like it! And let me know if you guys want more recipes like this from me in the comments! Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut 1 cup pitted dates - I used 10 total here for reference (had to split up recipe w/ my tiny food processor 🤣) 1 tbsp almond butter Dark chocolate chips (my favorite are the guittard extra dark chocolate chips) Lilys dark chocolate chips are also good Recipe: -Bake coconut in oven for 5 min at 350 or until golden brown/toasted -Mix coconut, dates and almond butter in food processor until blended all the way (should be sticky) -Form cookies and put in freezer while you melt chocolate (about 5 min) -Melt chocolate (I just melt in the microwave, start with 30 sec then do 15 sec increments until melted to avoid burning the chocolate) -Once chocolate is melted, pull out cookies and spread chocolate on the bottom with a knife or spoon -Put back in the freezer for 5-10 min -Dab a touch more of chocolate on the top of the cookies -Place back in freezer for 15-20 min and enjoy! Store in the fridge🥰 #healthycookie #healthycookies #healthyrecipe #guiltfreedessert #guiltfreeeating #paleodessert #paleo #ketorecipes #ketodessert #fitrecipe #fitbaking #healthybaking #olympian #professionalathlete #nutritiontips
