- 12As promised, a written version of yesterday’s video on medicated shampoos for a visual that you can save & come back to! Remember: this doesn’t mean you can’t use or enjoy a shampoo if I recommend it for a different scalp type. Use what works best for you, always! The most important thing is that you’re using a shampoo that helps to keep itching, irriation, scaling & flaking under control. And if you feel like you aren’t getting relief from medicated shampoos in general, definitely go see a dermatologist 💗 #medicatedhshampoo #shampoo #dandruff #scalphealth #abbeyyungmethod
- Next up in my product comparison guide series: Medicated shampoos! The best medicated shampoo is the one that controls your symptoms enough to keep your scalp clear and comfortable. But because several of these have overlapping ingredients + benefits, I thought it would help to break down which scalp types I think would enjoy them best! Remember: this doesn’t mean you can’t use or enjoy a shampoo if I recommend it for a different scalp type. Use what works best for you, always! And if you feel like you aren’t getting relief from medicated shampoos in general, definitely go see a dermatologist 💗 #abbeyyungmethod #medicatedhshampoo #shampoo #dandruff
- Ever since I started reviewing scalp serums, I’ve seen a ton of questions asking which ones are the best for hair growth. Unfortunately, with the laws surrounding this category, there’s not really a straightforward way to answer that. Hopefully these charts help you a bit given all of the constraints we have, and if you’d like to see larger full-screen views of the charts, I have a deep dive video on YT called “The Truth About High End Hair Growth Serums” #hairgrowth #hairloss #scalpserum
- For swatches, application footage, wear tests, my entire deep dive review on all of these products is live on my YT! #beautyreviews #beautyreview #deinfluencing #deinfluence
- Over 8 years using prescription retinoids (about 6.5 on tret, over 1.5 on tazarotene) and over 1.5 years on azelaic acid! I’ve used a lot of different combinations of both prescription and non-prescription topicals for acne and anti-aging over the years and this has hands down been the best yet. It obviously won’t be the same for everyone and takes some time to find the right combination for your own skin but 100% wish I was prescribed a prescription retinoid + azelaic acid sooner. Something to ask your derm about if you’re struggling with your skin like I have! 💗 #skincarejourney #skintransformation #skincareroutine #skincare
- #DovePartner @Dove Beauty & Personal Care If you've been watching my videos for the past couple of years, you already know how I feel about the Dove Bond Strength 10-in-1 Serum Mask. It absolutely blew my mind when I first tried it because I had never tried a product that was so intensely smoothing and conditioning. There are so many benefits for hair health like repairing signs of extreme internal and external damage, strengthening against cuurrent damage, and preventing future damage and breakage. But one of the most underrated is how well this detangles hair! Damaged hair is more prone to tangling and breakage, so it's just another way this mask can work to protect our hair and retain length as it grows. You can pick it up at the link in my bio! #DoveBondStrength
- I wanted to do a test comparing my results with the L’Oreal Elvive Collagen Peptide Lifter shampoo & conditioner vs the Pantene Sheer Volume shampoo & conditioner! My in depth review on L’Oreal went up last week if you want to hear my thoughts in more detail, but I have to say I think Pantene wins with this one when it comes to volume! FYI I did get a trim between these clips but only a few inches off the ends- no layers added to take off weight or create a fuller look or anything! You can see my hair is still as flat as can be in yesteday’s video 😂 #pantene #loreal #volume #finehair
- Immediately impressed omg 😍 Bought the Kristen Ess High Gloss Instant Rinse on a whim and was not expecting it to be that amazing!! This is my hair after air drying 90% and finishing up with a few minutes of a rough blow dry… no hot styling tools or round brushes! #gloss #hairgloss #shinyhair #washday
- This was the best accidental discovery ever! A few weeks ago, I was researching how UV damages our hair + the products we can use to protect against it for a video. That lead me to the article I showed in this video (https://doi.org/10.1111/ics.12231), and a TRI Princeton lecture that discussed the role that redox metals like copper can play in accelerating the amount of overall damage from sun exposure. In the lecture, they explained that out of all amino acids, histidine was found to have the highest affinity for copper. That’s why Pantene uses histidine in the Miracle Rescue Leave In Spray + Sunkiss Glow Spray for UV protection. But I remembered that the Sheer Valume shampoo also has histidine… so I reached out to their scientist to find out if it had enough histidine to deliver that benefit, and she confirmed that it does! The sun is actually so much more damaging than people realize… and there are a few different approaches/types of products to consider using to protect against that damage. To hear all the details & my top product recs, my sun damage video is already live! #pantene #panteneshampoo #shampoo #hairdamage
- Another pass or repurchase roundup on the 20 newer high end makeup & sunscreen launches I’ve been testing over the last few months! If you want to hear my in depth reviews and see swatches, application footage & wear tests, it’s already on my YT 💗 #beautyreview #newmakeup #makeupreview #reviews
- My long awaited review on the L’Oreal Elvive Collagen Peptide Lifter Volumizing Shampoo + Conditioner! My hope in starting this series is not only to share whether or not I’ll continue to use the new haircare launches that I test, but also give you enough information to figure out if it is something that would be worth *your* money, knowing that we all have different scalp types, hair types & preferences! I could see a lot of people really enjoying this one! Have you tried it? And let me know which new launches you’d like to see reviews on next! 💗 #loreal #shampoo #conditioner #haircareproducts
- 14As promised, a written version of my last video on which scalp health shampoos you might like best for your scalp and hair type! As a reminder, the most important thing is to choose a shampoo that has benefits that are aligned with your needs. But because a lot of the benefits overlap with these shampoos, I thought this would help if you’re torn between some! #abbeyyungmethod #scalphealth #shampoo #scalpcare
- We are back with another installment in my Abbey Yung Method Product Comparison Guide Series! This time: for scalp health shampoos. Remember: the *most* important thing is to find a shampoo that can actually deliver the benefits that you’re looking for. So don’t be afraid to try a shampoo that I recommend for a different scalp type if it sounds like the benefits would be a good fit. This series is to help you decide between options when you’re torn between a few. Not a guide on what you can and can’t use. A lot of these shampoos will work great for many scalp types, but because a lot have overlapping benefits, I thought it would be helpful to compare how they perform & clean! LMK which category you want me to cover next! 💗 #abbeyyungmethod #shampoo #scalphealth #hairloss
- My mom texted me a couple weeks ago saying this is her “Abbey Yung Method 2.0” because she often gets in the shower + realizes she forgot to apply hair oil. So I wanted to share this tip because it’s the perfect way to still get some protection on your lengths and ends on days when you forget or just don’t have enough time to let a pre-shampoo oil treatment in your hair. If you’re used to using a thicker oil like the OGX coconut miracle oil, I’d recommend using a hair mask or something more deeply conditioning. If you’re used to using a really lightweight oil like an oil mist, I’d recommend trying a more lightweight conditioner! Also- this is the same tip I gave several years ago when the reverse washing trend was going viral. A pre-shampoo conditioning product (of any kind) is a great idea to improve manageability post-wash, but I think it’s super important to use a conditioner or mask after shampoo, so I wouldn’t recommend that wash hack alone! #hairhack #washday #hairoil #washdayroutine
