- At midnight ET tonight, I'll be sharing the video for "Just A Kid", a song made of love, but born of loss. What an honor to shine a light on Chad Joseph and remember him out loud. I hope this song makes him proud. Also at midnight, GOOD GRIEF. ❤️🩹
- I am so excited to announce “Good Grief: Stories and Song”, a three day installation and performance series, free and open to the public, taking place THIS WEEKEND, August 28th - 30th, 2026 inside Lincoln Center Theater’s Christopher Lightfoot Walker Lobby at the Vivian Beaumont (150 West 65th Street). In collaboration with my partners The Strangers Project, we plan to fill the LCT’s gorgeous space with story and song, an immersive experience highlighting our shared humanity and our collective need for sharing. Hundreds of stories from The Strangers Project — an ongoing collection of anonymous, handwritten true stories shared by strangers since 2009 — will be on display and intermingled with audio recordings from my fans who I recently invited to share their stories of grief. My hope is to create an invitation to the general public to interact and receive what is offered, and then gift their own stories to deepen the growing conversation. Oh, and I will be playing some songs for you on a magnificent Steinway Spirio piano at the following times (Friday @ 6:30pm, Saturday @ 4:30pm, Sunday @ 1:30pm). When I am not there the Steinway Spirio (a state of the art player piano) will be playing a series of songs, new and old, that I had the great pleasure of recording last week. Endless thanks to my dear friends at Lincoln Center Theater for inviting us into your space. I hope you will join us this weekend, and maybe tell us a story of your own. - SAVE THE DATE!!! I am over the moon to share that Sara Bareilles: Good Grief, the documentary made by my dear friend Josh Alexander about my life and making the new album, will be screening at theaters nationwide on SEPTEMBER 2ND!! Tickets go on sale August 20th, but you can head to sarabmusic.com now for city and theater info, and to pre-register. The film is an intimate observation of the making of what has turned out to be my most vulnerable and personal project to date, and I'm so proud to share it. We made a film that feels like a sister piece to the album, something that makes the music richer and deeper. If you are coming to the GOOD GRIEF tour, I really believe that seeing this movie in a theater with friends, loved ones, and fellow fans will enrich your experience of seeing the live show, and whether you come to the tour or not, it will make listening to the album come more alive for you. We held nothing back, and I'm so proud of the honesty, art, confessions, and connections that live inside this film. It has ultimately made me feel closer to my fans, my friends, and myself. I hope you will grab a friend and a small box of tissues and make a night of it on September 2nd! Xo S
- STILL CRYING IS OUT NOW! The seeds of this song were planted in 2020, in a moment of great fear and worry, and they finally came into full bloom at Aaron Dessner’s studio in upstate New York just last year. With Aaron's help, we made one of my favorite songs on the record. I often think about how dynamic it is to be so attuned to emotional states of being. How in order to feel the ecstatic of the highs, you must also deeply feel the ache of the lows. This song is for those of us who find ourselves in the depths maybe more often than we'd like. With the beloved Kimmy Gatewood directing, the literal dream team assembled to make this music video and there is nothing but love on screen and off. It was a true miracle, and Kimmy said to me at wrap: "Sara, you called me with this idea 13 days ago.” We go big and go home, people. Thank you to my sweet friends and total STARS: John Lutz, Lonely Girl, Sweetie Pie, Janine Brito, Joe Tippett, Daniel Breaker, Celisse Henderson, and Jenny Bareilles for gifting me with your talent and presence and great vibes. Thank you to all the creative geniuses who worked so hard to pull this together so quickly, our outstanding crew, the wonderful actors on set, the dogs, the donuts, and thank you to executive producer Han West for helping make this all happen. Not me just over here crying again, thinking about how lucky l am... xo s
- Where are my fellow Crybabies at? "Still Crying"-the second single from Good Grief is out tomorrow! Here's a sneak preview of the video - the closest thing to heaven I have felt in 5eva. ❤️🩹 #goodgrief #lonelyhearts
- A little peak behind the music of “Still Crying”, which I’m pleased to say will be out alongside the MUSIC VIDEO on Friday. I have to say, I have not had this much fun making a video in 5eva. ❤️🩹 Link to pre-save in my bio. #goodgrief
- 1-888-282-4062. Give me a call and tell me your story. An important lesson that I’ve learned in the past few years is that healing from loss often begins when we share our stories, that grief will not overcome us if we have a community that’s willing to listen. So, if you are on the Good Grief journey with me, I would like to hear your story—which I might share, anonymously of course, around my album release and tour, alongside other stories from fans. Call in to 1-888-282-4062 and leave me a message. In return, I will send you back a story of my own. ❤️🩹 #goodgrief
- Hi! I have been busy getting carpal tunnel signing photos of myself that will be included in the vinyl, CD, and CD journal versions of Good Grief, all of which are available on my website now. But it's all worth it because all proceeds from sales of the album through my website will be donated to NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental illness, in support of their live-saving mental health resources, education, and advocacy. So, you get my first new album in seven years AND do your part in combatting the mental health crisis in America - pretty good deal in my opinion. ❤️🩹 sarabmusic.com #goodgrief

- “Home" is out now. It was inspired by a vulnerable and honest conversation about grief between @Anderson Cooper and Stephen Colbert that really resonated with me. Hearing their stories of loss, I started feeling more courageous to tell mine. "Tell me your story, I'll tell you mine." For me, this encapsulates the message of this record - sharing the thing that's the most true, and through that building threads of connection between you and the people around you. It's why we're all here.
- Today is the day! Pre-sale tickets to the GOOD GRIEF TOUR go on sale today at noon local time. Head to sarabmusic.com to sign up to receive the pre-sale code. I can’t wait to be with all of you again- sharing the music all this time has led me to. I hope to see you there. #goodgrief

I'm so grateful to every loving person who held the weight of this time with me, and for me, when I couldn't hold it myself. And to all of you... thank you for waiting. I am grateful for YOU. I am more of who I am meant to be because of this very tender, very soulful, very good grief. "Home" is out today. - It's a huge week for our little film family! So many things are happening! "Salt Then Sour Then Sweet" is streaming everywhere, and l've just released a lyric video on YouTube (link in bio!) featuring beautiful clips from Come See Me In The Good Light, with handwritten lyrics by the one and only Megan Falley. What a dream come true for this song, a collaboration with Brandi Carlile and Andrea Gibson, to come out the same day this very special film debuts on @Apple TV. So very thankful. 🥲 #luckypenny "Salt Then Sour Then Sweet" Written by Andrea Gibson, Sara Bareilles, Brandi Carlile Produced by Rob Moose Mixed by Jonathan Low Mastered by Steve Fallone at Sterling Sound Engineered by: Rob Moose, Jonathan Low, Henri Bardot Sara Bareilles: Vocals, Acoustic guitar Brandi Carlile: Vocals Rob Moose: Acoustic, Electric, Baritone and Bass Guitars, Piano, Violin, Viola, String Arrangement Henri Bardot: Drums, Guitar Jon Nellen: Drums, Percussion Chris Morrissey: Bass Guitar #saltthensourthensweet #comeseemeinthegoodlight
- TaDaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Finally sharing the official artwork celebrating the release of "Salt Then Sour Then Sweet," a brand new original song I wrote and sang alongside @Brandi Carlile for the documentary Come See Me In the Good Light, debuting on @Apple TV on November 14th. The film AND the song are meant to highlight the singular genius of Andrea Gibson and celebrate their extraordinary light and life. Andrea, Brandi and I wrote this song together, using words from an unfinished poem of Andrea's intended to be featured in the film. It evolved into a musical tribute to their beloved wife and partner, poet Megan Falley- and both film and song will be available this Friday, November 14th! I have a feeling their love will take new shape in you as you come to know even more of Andrea's life and work...trust me. Link to Pre-Save the song is in my bio. - Keep the Novocain out of my wisdom teeth I want to feel it all… Words feel small when talking about the transcendent love story that takes place in Ryan White’s portrait film of the two poets- Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley. Come See Me In The Good Light is a film about loving the life we are given- and Andrea’s particular superpower in finding delight in dark places as they navigate a terminal cancer diagnosis. The film is available this FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th on @Apple TV and I’m so honored to be a part of the family bringing it to you. To complete the film, @Brandi Carlile and I were invited to use Andrea’s unfinished poems to create an original song. It was the honor of a lifetime and as easy as breathing to write a love song for Andrea and Meg…with Andrea’s words, and so in honor of the film, we will release SALT THEN SOUR THEN SWEET this Friday!! Please enjoy this double dose of Andrea and I hope you laugh at something ridiculous in their honor. Link to pre-save “Salt Then Sour Then Sweet” in bio! ❤️ #comeseemeinthegoodlight
