- Took my networth from negative $50,000 to almost $700,000 with the help of investing I started investing in my 403B with $121 a check on my teacher salary — making less than $50,000 at the time I was 22 at the time and had no idea what I was doing. But I started and I’m so glad I did! This week’s Future Millionaire newsletter going out at noon focuses on how to prioritize diversification in your portfolio and how to research index funds funds your interested in ! Head to the 🔗 in b/0 to join.

- Last month was a high income month — and one thing a layoff followed by 2 years of full time entrepreneurship taught me USE THE WINDFALL TO PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE! Having a variable income is not for the faint of heart and even though I have my traditional 9-5 to add financial stability — no job is 100% secure. Before I pay myself I always put aside 25% of my income to cover my taxes. (Paid quarterly) Then it goes in this order: - Save - Invest - Budget the rest But that order is only possible because I track my spending and expenses on a monthly basis. I know exactly how much is coming in and how much is going out. It takes me less than an hour and I use the Millennial In Debt Money Date template to quickly track and plan for the following month. I use a Zero Based Budget so my goal is to always get to $0. And if you want to take yourself on a money date and get organized grab the template 🔗 in b/0 . . . . . . . . . . #millennialindebt #budget

- Welcome to episode 1 of my latest series: “Clearing Up Credit Card Confusion” With each episode I’m diving into a different credit card, telling you the pros / cons and highlighting the fine print they don’t want you to know ! Today we’re starting off with a fan favorite: The Amex Gold Gard. With a whopping $325 annual fee — do I think this card is right for everyone? As someone who has actively used this card for the last 3 years — I wouldn’t recommend it to many people. I enjoy having it, and do use all of the perks / benefits, BUT the main reason this card works for me is because of the 4X points I earn from restaurants and grocery shopping. The other perks and benefits are great, but the 4X is what makes it worth it for me. If you are not someone who eats out often, picks up the tab and has everyone Venmo their part, or grocery shop for your family — it is NOT going to be worth it. There are other cards with more perks or with a lower annual fee that would be a better alternative. Let me know in the comments what cards you’d like me to dive into next. I’ve already got some really big heavy hitters lined up, but I want to make sure I don’t miss any you want to learn more about! . . . . . . . . . #millennialindebt #personalfinance #creditcards #debtfreeliving #debtfreecommunity #creditcardhacks #creditcardpoints #rewardspoints #travelforfree #travelhacking #travelhack #creditcard101 #amex #amexgold
