- I promise sewing isn’t this dramatic 😂 Unless of course you get the idea for a new project 24 hours before you have to wear it! Had to keep the last clip in because it fit so well😂 #sewist #sewistofinstagram #makeyourownclothes #hobbies
- After close to 20 years sewing, I’ve learned that a good sewist is also a sewing machine mechanic 👩🔧 …now, do I have any training in this field? NO! But I can investigate a problem and learn to disassemble and reassemble a sewing machine with a pretty high success rate of fixing problems…just by sure willpower 😂 I’ve fixed multiple machines over the years with various problems and I’m always amazed at the power of a little oil on gears ⚙️ and a few YouTube videos troubleshooting problems 😜 Have you ever taken a sewing machine apart? #sewistofinstagram #sewingmachinemechanic #beginnersewing #sewist
- I think what I love about clothes is that clothing can be both practical and functional and yet you can also use it to express yourself…clothing can define what you do, but it can also allow you to tell the world who you are. Clothing can protect you from weather, but it can also give you confidence to embrace who God made you to be. Clothing isn’t a stagnant thing that is boring, it’s something that lives life with us and tells a story in more ways than one. I love that my AM is characterized by functional farm work clothes but my PM is characterized by fun personal style💕 #personalstyle #ootd #farmlife #fashion #expressyourself
- Winter ❄️ is a challenging time to get dressed because you want to stay warm, but if you are like me and love a fun outfit, winter can be challenging when it comes to wearing what you love! - 192016…how was that already 10 years ago! This was a fun trip down memory lane! Apparently 2016 was a peak blogging year for me with so many different styles of outfits, multiple hair lengths (because I chopped it short at one point) but all in all I was just a Junior in college carrying my camera and tripod around campus and doing photoshoots for my old fashion blog (MinnieMuse)💕 1) I thought this look was amazing (also very Taylor swift coded for the time) 2) A fun novelty blouse with bicycle wheels on it was apparently the “thing” 3) If I wasn’t wearing a trendy blogger outfit you could find me in vintage inspired looks like this yellow dress I sewed from a sheet! (This was also taken on my college campus in Texas) 4) The old Instagram icon I had as a purse and thought I was so cool 5) Artsy photos at an art museum 6) I was really int Bible journaling and painting scripture 7) this outfit SLAYED! Also the shirt says “introverts girl gang” and I thought I was so cool 8) Had a thing for buying fashion magazines and doing flat lay photos (this photo actually ended up being featured in the next issue of InStyle😱) 9) Moody photoshoot 10) I used to take a photo like this every thanksgiving…was very 2016 coded 11) Just a girl doing a solo photoshoot in the old downtown of her college town! This old theater was such a cool backdrop…also, I CUT BANGS ‼️ 12) The cutest 70’s inspired look taken behind my dorm 13) Every now and then my inner 1950’s housewife would com out in my outfits 😉 14) The strawberry 🍓 shirt was everything! 15) I was such a fan of ModCloth & took a day trip to visit their pop up store in Austin! 16)Upgraded my camera lense & photo game 17) When I really needed someone to tell me my eyebrow drawing wasn’t flattering 🙈 18) Still one of my favorite photos taken at a garden store 19) Nothing gets more 2016 than this outfit and photo…I think all the fashion & blogging girls have some variation 😂 #throwbackthursday #2016 #fashionblogger #ootd
- Winters might be cold 🥶& pipes might have frozen but there’s nothing like wool sweaters & coats (and merino leggings) to keep me warm and cozy even on the coldest days! One of my favorite things to thrift is sweaters & cardigans…especially if they are natural fibers like wool & cotton! Natural fibers offer the best insulation, are free of toxic chemicals & endocrine disruptions (say no to plastic sweaters) and are high quality with years of life left in them👏🏻 After living in Wisconsin for 3 winters now I appreciate even more the value and need for natural fibers to find a place in my wardrobe! Plus, they remind me of people from centuries past and how natural fibers literally helped them survive the cold…so why wouldn’t we utilize their same power today?! Drop a comment below 👇🏻 and tell me if you’ve made the switch to natural fibers! #thriftedfinds #woolsweaters #naturalfibers #ootd
- 8In 2026 we are ditching plastic ☠️ sweaters & instead, curating a Natural Fiber 🧶 sweater collection👏🏻 I’ll be honest, natural fibers can be PRICY 💵, but thanks to thrifting you can easily build a sweater collection you love *on a budget* Have you ever wondered how to thrift high quality natural fiber sweaters to build your dream knit collection? I’ve been slowly building my DREAM sweater collection over the last 3 years and now I’m sharing all my TIPS & TRICKS with YOU😍 Send me a message that says “Free Thrifting Guide” and I’ll send you the link! 9You want to know something…this whole year I kept saying (and thinking) that 2025 was a slower sewing year for me…there were weeks on end that I didn’t set foot in the sewing cabin & months where I didn’t complete a project…BUT…when I sat down to review my sewing year for this post I realized I accomplished more than I thought!! Just to name a few: ❇️ 36+ sewing projects ❇️ working on my first sewing pattern ❇️ 7 pattern tests ❇️ connecting with amazing creatives online & building sweet connections ❇️ launched my #makeitmonday series & saw a steady growth in building a community that loves to sew on a budget ❇️ Hit milestones on YouTube & Instagram and and believe so many lovely people choose to follow me💕 There’s so much more I could list, but you can swipe through this post and see more details of what 2025 looked like as a sewist & creator!
