- Philadelphia’s been good to me spotted in the wild 📍
- Good morning ! (11:23 am EST) I’m writing this with my coffee, the most important part of my day, the closest I get to meditation I guess… My mind is still mushy but my pride is strong (so I’m holdin on!) Hey! My new album Philadelphia’s been good to me is OUT NOW up in that world. Thanks tons to my band o’ bros the Violators for hoofin’ it with me all these years because everyone’s got some extra sparkly, shimmery and shiny moments on this one (Jesse! Check the final instrumental gtr outro at the very end of “avalanches of snow” and you’ll hear the most sparkly Jesse Trbovich gtr ever) Kyle Spence on the tubs! Adam Langellotti and Mathew Jugenheimer: we spent many many hours in the OKV Central zone or was this some kinda 3 year dream? Extended musical family! Sarah Jones, Francie and Jon from Florry, Steve Gunn, Rob Laakso, Mikel Avery, Greg Cartwright, Natalie Hoffman, Farmer Dave Scher… so many cosmic besties in the world lived in this one with us. Makin a kv album is a way of life but I feel like I lived in this one hard starting since early 23 (?) …it’s a blur and I feel like I’m still makin it and that’s the beauty I guess. But it still feels crazy to let ‘er go! Really excited to come out and play live for all our sweet fans tho, so, sheeit, maybe this is just the beginning (?) Huge thanks to all the musicians above as well as the rest of the extended crew: Rob Schnapf, Doug Easley, Matt Qualls, Matt Schuessler, Brian Rosemeyer, Jessica Thompson. Jamie Krents and Oliver everyone at Verve Records! Rennie Jaffe and Shira for holding my hand thru fkn everything. Perry Shall! (We got Philly a lot didn’t we?) And my og life producers (my fam): Zanne, Awilda, Delphine ❤️❤️❤️ So many in my crew I couldn’t do it without. Love yall too! I’m gonna have to get deep with production notes later I think, haha I’m floating too much for now. Hope you love it! We put all we had into it (got no choice) I’ll be talkin lots more later and seein lots of you out soon ❤️ !!! Because it’s gonna take a lotta LOTTA love… Love, KV 5/29/26

- Heyo! “Zoom 97” is out now up in the world. This was the first song that came together on this record that we knew was real special, like we knew we were on the right track ya know… And it’s a 100% Philly born and bred affair. I could reminisce out loud but for now we takin it inward… “jump in my whip… my engine whines, yeah… zig zag my way… down Lincoln Drive, yeah…” See yall out there in the world soon enoughs :) Love, KV “Zoom 97” Produced by KV with Adam Langellotti and Matt J KV- guitars and vocals AL- bass MJ- wurlitzer Mikel Patrick Avery- drums Jesse Trbovich- backing vocal (outro) Recorded / mixed at OKV Central, Philly Engineers: AL and MJ mixed by AL

- 5 weeks until ‘Philadelphia’s been good to me,’ along with it’s never-before-seen William Eggleston photo on the cover. “This is my ‘bringing it all back home to Philly’ album,” says KV. “I’m treating it like my last. I put everything into it. It’s my best vocal record. It’s my best electric guitar record. It’s my most organic record, made in the comfort of my own zone.” Album art Layout by @dnorsen_design Front cover design @perryshall
- Fun fact: Another good year for the roses featured actor Michael Shannon throughout the video.
- KV sneaks onto the Office Hours Podcast, Episode 339
- Here’s a mix of pics from within the ‘Philadelphia’s been good to me’ album packaging, a sampling of friends and collaborators who played a part on the record. Recorded from late 2023 to early 2026 in an ‘inspired state of flux,’ KV’s album travels brought him to Memphis, LA, Athens GA, and his OKV Central basement studio in Philly. “I’ll come back, high on music and life, inspired by friendships and all the laughter and jokes I had that night,” says Kurt, “And I look around and see my studio in a new light. I just turn on a synth and a looper, strap on a guitar, and I put that beautiful night into some kind of song. This album captures all that, ya know?”
