- There is no balance when you are trying to win at the highest level. Success takes sacrifice, focus, and an obsession with getting the few things that actually matter done. If you can identify your three to five priorities and refuse to let anything distract you from them, you are already operating differently than most people.
- I look at the situation through the lens of an investor. The analogy I love to use when it comes to investment is, I don't want to invest where the puck is, I want to invest where the puck is going. I'm going to argue that there's never been a better time to invest in Canada now in the height of this chaos, and I'll explain my investment thesis. Carney cannot sustain 50% tariffs on the Canadian economy. That will put the country into a recession and he knows it. And I don't think 26 states in the US can sustain 50% tariffs with their biggest trading partner, and Trump knows that. So this is a politically motivated period of time, I would call it 60, 90 days, where you can invest in a country in economic chaos at the bottom and get a ridiculously fantastic return over the next five years.
- You buy a watch to mark a significant moment in your life. It tells a story about you. An Apple Watch is great product, but it’s a piece of consumer electronics. When you walk into a room with that on your wrist, you’re telling everyone you’re 20% off retail.
- My top 5 rules of investing are simple. Never get too concentrated. Keep debt under control. Stay liquid. Protect the principal and live off the cash flow. And never own an investment that doesn’t pay you. Wealth is not just about how much you own. It is about protecting your capital, staying flexible, and making sure your money keeps working for you.
- The worst mistake you can make as an entrepreneur is refusing to admit when something has failed. Bad ideas do not become good ideas just because you keep throwing more money at them. Embrace the loss, learn from it, and move on. 80% of startups fail. You cannot cry about every one.
- Life’s too short for bad tequila. I only put my name on the good stuff. 🥃 Explore the collection: https://kevinoleary.com/tequila/
- The next big AI trade may not be a tech stock. AI, data centers, and a growing economy all need more power, and America’s grid is already stretched. That is why I’m looking at nuclear energy and uranium. The U.S. consumes roughly 50 million pounds of uranium a year and produces only about one million. If nuclear becomes a bigger part of the energy solution, demand for uranium could become enormous.
- Summer isn't over yet. There are still dinners to host, deals to celebrate and a few warm nights left to enjoy. I don't lower my standards just because the calendar is turning. Neither should you. Link in bio.
- 6Embrace failure and move on. Own your success. Pursue freedom, not just money. Never let security make you forget your dreams. And above all, have the discipline to keep your money working for you.
- Money itself is not the reason to work hard. The reason is freedom. There’s nothing more beautiful than getting up in the morning and knowing that even though you want to go to work, you don’t have to.
- I have been completely impressed by how Carney has operated. He's got critics but I'm not one of them. I look at this and I say to myself, the richest country on earth per capita is Canada but it's all in the ground. Unfortunately, for the last decade, bad policy took it to the bottom of the G20 by every measurement. Carney is gonna change all that and he's got the population behind him. Right now this tiff with the United States makes no sense long term. The largest consumer market on earth is the United States. The largest gathering of wealth that is going to be consumed by that consumer market is sitting in the ground, or in the water, or in the energy, or in the gas, in the oil, the uranium, in the potash of what Canada has. These two countries are going to get together 100%.
- The American Dream does not need a makeover. It has worked for 250 years because America is still the place where, no matter who you are or where you came from, you have a real shot at building a better life. Every administration has a responsibility to protect that opportunity. The American Dream is not just part of this country, it is one of its greatest exports.
- I’m bullish on the WNBA. The league has done an incredible job building attention through media, social media, and emerging stars who are creating real fan loyalty. Controversy has only added fuel to that interest, but the bigger story is the growth of the product itself. As these players become bigger stars, the value of the league, its audience, and even its collectibles will continue to rise.
- The whole reason to become an entrepreneur is the pursuit of freedom. You work like hell so one day you can control your time, make your own choices, and do the things you actually want to do. Never be embarrassed by success. If you built it, earned it, and created it yourself, own it. Wear it proudly, because that freedom is exactly what you worked for.
- Sanctions only work if countries are willing to comply and someone is willing to enforce them. If major buyers still need Iranian oil, the pressure only goes so far. The bigger issue is the Strait of Hormuz. If the world depends on that route for energy, the countries benefiting from it should help pay to keep it secure and keep oil moving.
- I don’t believe the U.S. Canada trade war is built to last. America needs critical resources like uranium and potash, and Canada needs stable access to the U.S. market. Long term, these economies are too strategically connected to stay divided by tariffs. The real outcome should be deeper economic cooperation, not pushing Canada closer to China.
- Turns out it’s priceless. What would you do with it?
- Consumer goods CEOs are raising concerns about affordability because they’re seeing the pressure firsthand. Higher credit card rates, mortgage costs, rents, and everyday expenses are squeezing lower and middle income consumers even while the broader economy remains strong. That’s why these companies matter as an economic signal. They’re the canary in the coal mine, when their customers start running out of room, it’s a warning that affordability is becoming a bigger problem.
- 6Protect your liquidity, avoid too much debt, only buy investments that pay you, spend the interest and never the principal, and never let one stock or one sector dominate your portfolio. The goal is simple, protect capital, generate income, and stay disciplined for the long term.
- Wealth creation comes down to one word, discipline. The people who become financially free are usually the ones who learned how to say no early. No to unnecessary purchases, no to lifestyle inflation, and yes to keeping their money working for them.
- Entrepreneurship isn’t just a career, it’s a way of life. You’ll may have your first exit and go visit every beach on earth, but you’ll come right back to building and working just like I did. That’s the beauty of entrepreneurship.
- Is uranium the future of AI? As demand for cloud computing and AI models continues to explode, the real bottleneck is becoming power. That’s what led me to start looking at nuclear energy and uranium. Small modular reactors could become a major part of the solution, and if AI keeps demanding more electricity, the commodities that power that infrastructure could become just as important as the chips themselves.
- Inflation affects all of us. That means focusing on value and always looking for great deals. I know I am!
- I’ve spent 30 years listening to pitches and investing in entrepreneurs. The serious builders are easy to spot. They don’t just talk about the idea. They build it, test it, fix what doesn’t work and keep going. And with AI, what you can build goes far beyond a prototype. That’s what Builder Fest in partnership with Emergent is about. If you think you’re a serious builder, show me what you can build & remember - I invest in execution, not just ideas. $100K on the table! Link in bio. #BuilderFest #StartBuilding #buildwithai
