My favourite books from every year of my life (so far) starting with the best book I read each year from the ages of 1 to 12 !!! And a veryyyyy full circle announcement at the end :) On my 28th birthday I went out with my mum and we started chatting about my favourite books from each year. She helped me compile this list and find some of the books I’d lost. Let me know, did we have any of the same favourite books growing up? What were your top books at these same ages??
DRACULA FANS RISE UP!!!!! This spooky season there’s a brand new FULL CAST production of Dracula starring Jonathan Bailey, Aimee Lou Wood, Louis Partridge, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and more! With groundbreaking sound design and a chilling soundtrack, so much love and careful consideration has been poured into this adaptation. I was lucky enough to interview the cast about their favourite stories, which you’ll be seeing very soon…….. but for now sink your teeth into this freaky reimagining of a much loved classic @Audible ad
Daisy Edgar Jones shares her favourite books, from classics to romantasy, Gabriel Garcia Marquez to Sarah J Maas, and why Sally Rooney is the contemporary Jane Austen. YES WE SPOKE ABOUT NORMAL PEOPLE. NO I WAS NOT THE ONE TO BRING IT UP!!!! Daisy absolutely shines as Elinor Dashwood, but I was intrigued to hear how she got used to called a different character ‘Marianne’ in Sense and Sensibility. She’s also just a total ray of sunshine. I LOVED this conversation!!!!! Throne of Glass, Hunger Games, Twilight, and Normal People in one video…..? Oh yes. Find out Daisy’s required reading here and follow along for more bookish content with the cast of Sense and Sensibility. The movie is in cinemas now 📚
I hear you judging books by their covers and raise you…. judging books by their titles. This is my definitive list of the best book titles ever, from Shakespeare to Oscar Wilde!! These book titles are pure poetry. Warning: this video might be expensive because these titles will make you want to read allllll of them. Please tell me your favourites as well!!
[ad] a trip down memory lane to the place it all started and my favourite place to read…. Why did Anne Carson just win the Nobel Prize for Literature….? She’s your favorite poet’s favourite poet, and the ultimate multi-hyphenate. She’s an erudite classicist, poet, playwright, translator, essayist, and more. Here’s a brief introduction to her work, as well as where to begin 📚 Featuring Autobiograpby of Red, If Not Winter (Fragments of Sappho), Nox, The Sound of Gender, The Beauty of the Husband and some great articles to sink your teeth into (including one about Rosalía!!) Welcome to the world of Anne Carson
Everyone’s talking about one of my favourite authors — even Dua Lipa’s Service95 book club — sooo here’s my book report (with no spoilers) for Klara and the Sun!!! This was Kazuo Ishiguro’s first book published after winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017, and only served to prove exactly why he deserved it. It’s a story about Artificial Friends, and a warning about the limits of robots to understand true human emotion, despite their best efforts. Now Klara and the Sun is coming to the big screen, directed by Taika Waititi and starring Jenna Ortega!! I’m so intrigued to see how these elements are incorporated into the film, and see this new iteration of the story. See you in the cinema October 23rd, eek!!!! @sonypictures.uk [ad]
Jacob Elordi called this book a “masterpiece” so of course I had to read it. Here’s my book report for Angel Down by Daniel Krauss, the book that won the Pulitzer Prize!! And — spoiler alert — it really is amazing. Here are my thoughts, let me know yours if you’ve read it. More Jacob Elordi book recommendations on my feed :)
Alix Earle says she’s never read a book, soooo here are the books I’d recommend her. Instead of judgement, I think this is actually a really great opportunity to spotlight some books that are perfect for getting back into the habit of reading. They’re propulsive, twisty page-turners, brilliantly written while also being accessible. I hope this helps anyone out there who also hasn’t read a book in their adult life!! There’s so many amazing books waiting for you, if you’re open minded to finding them :) And remember just 10 pages a day is a short time commitment but will do so much for your brain 🤍 Welcome to BookTok Alix Earle 🫡

AD | Reading isn’t just about opening a book and escaping into a story - it’s also about all the little rituals that come with it. That’s exactly what inspired my new Reading Rituals Collection with @Etsy !!!! As you know, I love a well-loved book (dog-eared pages, annotations, underlining and all), and this collection celebrates all the ways we make reading our own. Think custom book stamps and embossers, bookish wall art, bookends, tote bags, and even baseball caps - all made by incredible independent sellers. This is sooo special to me, my most viral video on ~the other video app~ was all about books I’d bought on Etsy. This is very full circle for me!!! The collection is officially live and available to shop now at etsy.com/featured/reading-rituals-uk EEEEKK
Reviewing The Booker Prize longlist (from what I’ve read so far!!!) — I’ve read half of the longlist so far, here’s the books I think should make the shortlist… and the ones I think should NOT
