- “Christian” is a word we see used a couple times in the Bible, first being coined in Antioch. There is nothing wrong with calling ourselves a Christian; the function of language is to help us identify and communicate. But I know a lot of people feel very uncomfortable with the word because of what “Christianity” has become in the mainstream (no hate like Christian love, feel me?). In the Bible, we’re more often called *saints.* Being raised Catholic, I was taught that “saint” is a title reserved for the dead… a minimum of 5 years to be exact… who the church deemed holy enough to receive an award for it posthumously. But in the Bible, the authors are speaking to *the saints* of [insert city here]. So as far as I can tell, a saint is someone who does their best to model their lives and actions after Jesus Christ. If we all actually asked ourselves WWJD and then *did that* we could solve all the world’s problems… but we have to work together :( Anyway, another part I want to address is the word “prophet.” The gift of prophesy is a gift in the New Testament, as well as the Old, that we are told to seek and pray for. To be a “prophet” is to speak God’s word; the Bible tells us not to despise prophesy, but to test and hold what is true (1 Thessalonians 5:20). This is NOT limited to making future-predictions or displaying supernatural powers. To be a prophet to the Lord is to profess HIS word… if you’re speaking in a way that aligns with God’s Truth as laid out for us in scripture, you are prophesying. If you have a message placed heavily on your heart or a well-timed word for someone, you are prophesying. Again, this is to be tested against what has ALREADY been said, not adding new doctrine. It’s to uplift, encourage, inspire, remind and educate others on our faith. Anyway just wanted to put that out there before the internet starts calling me insane or Christians start calling me blasphemous for expressing myself through art & poetry 😁
- Christ is King 4evr&evr ✝️🤍 I’ve never felt the joy, freedom and release that I feel when I sing for The Lord. It comes both from outside of me and within me; intuitively 💟 anyway my hubby & I recorded a couple gospel covers as part of our acoustic cover project. It’s 6 songs that immediately take us back to when we first started dating :D and of course, we had to include God in that mix. Love u!

- *PLEASE READ* This message was being banged over my head since Sunday morning when I went back to church for the first time after an extremely hurtful and terrifying church experience (story time?). The night before, I saw a post about “sometimes you’ll get a message that is so specific, so clear, it can only be from God.” That morning, I was on my knees, bowed with my head to the ground, praying for relief from the pain & impatience I was feeling- Many people have chosen to believe lies about me, a lot of them, for a very long time. Not many people can understand the long-standing pain and trauma of slander, especially public slander. I’ve been mocked and gaslighted to the point of having a very public breakdown, which led to more mocking and more public humiliation. It’s my own trauma to work through. So I’m bowed before God, praying for the 1000th time that the truth will be revealed, that the lies will be exposed as lies, that I will be restored NOW, begging God to move swiftly on my behalf (if you’ve read psalms, you get it). At this point I’ve been crying for a week straight with intrusive, OCD thoughts about losing my loved ones in a tragedy & being harmed… something I haven’t dealt with in quite a while. Darkness and negativity, DEMONIC ACTIVITY was plaguing me (because I was allowing it to, inviting it in by engaging in sinful behavior, INCLUDING celebrity gossip, something I personally should know better as someone on the receiving end). So we go to church for the first time, and I just prayed for God to answer me CLEARLY beyond deniability, and one of the first things out of this pastor’s mouth was “sometimes we pray for something so hard but it feels like the prayer isn’t being answered as quickly as we hoped.” Instantly I knew I was in for an emotional service. He starts preaching about how we have to continue our good works EVEN THROUGH SLANDER knowing that we have the approval of *God* whether or not we have the approval of *people.* He reminded us that we don’t want to fit in with a world that we were saved from. That we sometimes want what we had BEFORE Jesus saved us, but we have to grieve it and be thankful for the NEW life we were given… and to ALWAYS remember, that no matter what, *God loves us.* He spoke life into us, reminding us that our hope is in Jesus, that this life is VAPOR, and that we have *heaven* to look forward to; the realm where our body dies, our soul lives on, and there are no tears and no pain. Then, yesterday, I get a phone call from an organization I donated to just to say thanks… I know the person in passing, but we’ve never spoken on the phone or had any lengthy conversation. On the call, she randomly says off the top with no context of what I’m wrestling with: “We’re all gifted by God in some way… but every once in a while, someone is given a special gift. You were given a gift of talent and creativity… but more importantly, you were given the gift of influence. You have a powerful, recognizable voice… and you have the heavy responsibility to use it.” This was as I was getting ready to record my testimony, finally. And then I went to bed and had this vivid, direct, beautiful dream that validated and affirmed everything God was speaking to me through scripture, and through his other children (my pastor, the woman who called me). I wanted to share this because I want to encourage you- God is listening, God is responding. You’re not crazy. It’s not coincidence. God is speaking. Pray for the wisdom and discernment to hear HIS words and to reject the rest. God bless you all, Jesus LOVES you. #spirituality #christiantiktok #jesusismysavior
