- Unfortunately this is a real conversation i had yesterday. Too often when founders don’t fit the archetype an investor is looking for, they fall back on biases associated with the identity of the person they are talking to. In this case, assuming I, as woman, is pursuing my business as a hobby or passion rather than building for profit. We are not creating @thredx or @thredxlabs just because we love fashion. Our team has built a digital infrastructure that will serve as the foundation for the future of fashion. One where we can virtually try on and style every physical item ever created. All in all, I believe our biases, while sometimes obvious and sometimes not, are a silent killer of companies with the potential to become unicorns. Especially underrepresented founders. What do you think?

- We’re constantly inspired by the founders, designers, and store owners we have the honor of working with at thredx. Their passion, resilience, and creativity drive everything we do. That’s why we’re thrilled to kick off our newest series: About the Founders. As we partner with brands to merge fashion and tech, we’re also shining a spotlight on the incredible people behind these stories. First up: @annabloda. Through challenges and triumphs, Anna followed her love for thrifting and vintage fashion to open Bloda’s Choice, a true gem in Chinatown, NYC. Her story is as bold and original as the pieces she curates—and we’re proud to collaborate with her to bring them to life through virtual try-on technology. Want to dive deeper into Anna’s journey and her partnership with ThredX Labs? Part 2 is coming soon!
