We met last year, and I watched her perform live - lovely woman, beautiful energy, insane vocal style and charismatic vibe. Can’t wait to listen to her original music, and her performance in the film. Cool, fun cast. 🎤🥃🤍 #LizardMusic @Raye #Raye
Drop in ONE FINAL TIME. The new trailer for #JUMANJI: OPEN WORLD drops tomorrow - in movie theatres exclusively on CHRISTMAS DAY.
2I’m smilin’ and shaking my head knowing the luminous life they’ll breathe into their roles for Benny Safdie’s ‘Lizard Music’. Lizard Music has been quite the exciting, unique and ambitious swing. Immensely challenging, but a true gift it’s been. Grateful for the role. Thank you to our @Amazon MGM Studios partners. UA’s Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt, David Koplan, Benny Safdie. What a cast and experience, and can’t wait for you and your families to experience this as well. #LizardMusic🦎🎶
Another question about fame. How has fame changed me? It hasn’t. I don’t believe fame changes anyone, I believe fame simply magnifies who you are and what you are. Fame will eventually expose what’s inside. So be careful if you chase it. Here’s a quiet lil’ thing I do, whenever I meet famous people. I always pay sharp attention to how they treat other NON famous people around them. Their teams etc. And especially strangers. Reveals a lot. I like our little post workout Rock Talk Q&A’s but geeezus, next time I’ll catch my breath so I don’t sound like I’m trying to inflate a bounce house. Wtf 😂
Any advice for somebody who wants to become famous?” yup, GREAT question 👊🏾 I meet and talk with all ages, colors, cultures of people around the world and a version of this fame question always comes up - especially in the social media influencer space from my Millenni’s, Gen Z’ers and Gen Alphas 🥂🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 Should you chase fame? 💯 go for it and have fun along the way. But here’s the ‘caveat emptor’ (buyer beware) about fame - fame by itself is fleeting. Has no backbone, no quality and eventually that flame will burn out. We’ve all seen it a million times - people who get “famous” today, and tomorrow they’re gone. Instead of making fame your only priority, try shifting it to making greatness your priority too! Becoming masterful at your craft. It’s gonna take years (even decades) of hard work. And who knows, maybe your mastery will eventually lead to “holy shit this global fame is straight up f#%king bananas” 🍌🤣 And that’s great. or — maybe it won’t. And that’s great too. Either way, your discipline for achieving greatness and always delivering a quality are the things that endure and that people will always connect with ~ for a lifetime. Back to work - thanks for the questions. 👊🏾🥃
One of my FAVORITE pods I’ve ever done - chopping up MUSIC & LIFE with my boy Elmo on @Go with Elmo Lovano 🥃 I was hanging out in country dive bars on Lower Broad in Nashville, trying to get singing gigs… and I was 15 YRS OLD 🙋🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ I was already 6’4 220lbs with a Magnum PI pornstache…imagine me going into these bars with no guitar, no band, BUT I could drink, and sing some Merle & Hank Jr with the best of ‘em 😎😈 Fast forward to today, where I have the honor of Executive Producing a first of its kind, inspired by album that we imagined for the sole purpose of creating opportunities for our Polynesian artists to share their beautiful voices and powerful mana with the world. Check out our album VOICES ACROSS THE OCEAN everywhere music is played! 🎶 And check out my podcast GO WITH ELMO - a great dude with a profound love and insane talent for MUSIC 🎙️ 🎶 Shout to my fellow Executive Producers and lady bosses 🥃 Lauren Hashian Tiana Nonosina Kayla Fa’amaligi 🥃
lots of questions about my post training meal - here it is/ approx 36oz water ice 10-15g creatine 1 cup frozen blueberries stevia 120g of carbs jasmine rice 70g of protein powder (this is a prototype protein I’m researching for my new supplement line I’m developing for ‘27 or ‘28 - want to take my time with this and do it the right way) I’ll eat a real food meal 2-3 hours later, pending my work schedule. Taking in roughly 4,000 calories per day. Holding conditioning and lean quality tissue very nicely with these macros. Current weight 236lbs. Best I’ve ever felt. Have a productive week and keep doing the thing 🗡️ 🛡️
Praise or criticism - stay neutral. Embrace both. No one can break what they didn’t build. You built it. It’s yours. And over the years, I’ve learned there’s a big difference between critics and cynics. Critics always want to love something. Cynics want to destroy it. Critics don’t love hating something you’ve built. Cynics find joy in trying to break what you’ve built. Embrace your critics. There’s value there. Either way, when you succeed at something - it’s always a team effort and everyone celebrates. When you fail, take it on the chin and own it. All of it. Especially if you’re in a leadership position. Great question, keep ‘em coming and these “post workout Ted Talks with the Rock” are fun. Thanks 🥃
So fun having @Papatui pull up for our military members at the NAS Oceana Air Show in Virginia Beach 🌊 ✈️ 🇺🇸 Papatui is working on some very cool partnerships and activations with our military branches and bases across the country. Love you guys back and as always - forever grateful for your service. dj 🥃
Wins or losses. What’s more valuable? The wins are f*cking amazing and at the end of the day, we always play to win. But no one wins all the time, and my losses and failures have proven to be more valuable than any win. Failing to make it to the NFL, failing at pro wrestling (my rookie year), divorce, and how that affects trying to be a good father to a 5yr old little girl. The list goes one. When we win at something, everyone sees it. It’s joy and everyone celebrates - as WE SHOULD, because we worked hard for it. But the losses and failures are quiet, and where we learn the invaluable super power of ENDURANCE. Get knocked down. Get back up. Wipe some blood off your face, welcome that new chip on your shoulder and keep on keeping on. Thanks for the great questions. And cheers to the chip that never goes away 🥃😉
Hurts my heart, and sending my condolences, love, light and mana to the Satterley family. Despite pro wrestling being globally popular, it’s energy is still that of very unique subculture and breed of passionate performers who support each other because we all know the daily hardships and the nightly pressures of chasing squared circle dreams. Stay strong, Satterley family. And “thank you for the house”, Benjamin 🕊️
When art and grace meet discipline and beauty. USA Artistic Swimming 🏊 🇺🇸 You know I love, appreciate and respect my bad ass women, and these incredible female Olympic athletes honored us by creating an original performance for our new cover, “We Know The Way” sung by @Dinah Jane & @Stan Walker from our new Moana inspired album, “Voices Across The Ocean” In person, these women perform their craft with such elegance, poise, and power and I loved that our young daughters got to see this level of discipline and greatness. THANK YOU ladies for being so cool to my family and for pulling my lil’ tornadoes 🌪️ into the pool with you guys at the end to swim with them 🙏🏾❤️ Next time I’ll get in the pool too, but I’ll need a custom Speedo that fits my big hips, so I’m not Muffin Top Rock 👀 😂 We love and appreciate you bad ass ladies!! And bring home the GOLD in 2028 🥇🇺🇸 DJ #LaurenHashian #tiananonosina #kaylafaamaligi @Disney Music
Um… whoa “Your Dad” climbs to #1 song on International Pop Chart! I’m absolutely floored by this incredible “pinch me” news — thank you. It’s so cool - and humbling - to see this original song, that @Iam Tongi and I I wrote together, about my three daughters, resonate with so many people across the oceans. I loved the creative writing, artistic + performance process (thank you @Teremana Tequila 🥃😜) and curiously inspired to create more music in the future. Til’ then, thank you so much for connecting with “Your Dad”, just as much as I do. #YourDad #1 #VoicesAcrossTheOcean
Motivation vs Discipline. Motivation is the loud noise - “LFG” “GRIND UP” “NO DAYS OFF” Discipline is the quiet voice - “you already know” Years ago I learned that quiet discipline over loud motivation was my anchor and it changed my life. Happy and productive FriYay! You already know ⚔️ ⚓️ 🤟🏾 ps - the quiet discipline voice will also tell you that carbs are your friend. You’re welcome 😜💪🏾
DeletedHere’s a final set of presses for my chest training. When hitting peak fatigue, I’ll do two rest pauses and as many half reps as I can at the end. CONTROL THE WEIGHT - ESPECIALLY at the end when you’re so f*cking fatigued and all you got left is your grit and guts 🤪 - that’s the time to really CONTROL YOUR FORM. At this point it’s all mental flow state through the pain - and that’s where the magic happens. On the other side of is your pain, is your greatness. Then we’ll cry together after the set 😭😂 🤜🏾🤛🏼 As I said in my other post, I took a full year to drop approximately 50lbs (to play my character in Benny Safdie’s Lizard Music”) going from 285lbs which was my weight for filming “The Smashing Machine” to my current weight of 234lbs. Wanted to take my time and cut the weight in a smart, wise way that didn’t involve anything extreme or any kind of crash cutting. Doing it this way created a great opportunity for me to become super acutely attuned to my body - mentally/spiritually and of course physically. It’s also given me a completely new perspective on the “mind muscle connection” that we as athletes are always chasing. Full sovereignty over my trials, errors and progress. That’s the way we want it. I’ll post more training/training philosophy vids as I’m able to. And can’t wait to expand this overall conversation with all you guys about training, health, nutrition, wellness, peak performance etc - when we launch @ProjectRock 10.0 🗡️ 🛡️
#1 @Papatui BUILT FOR THE SEMESTER! Good luck this season boys, light it up 🔥🏈 Enjoy your Papa. #PapaTui #1 #MensSkincare
This is insane 🤯 🎶 📈 I wrote and performed “Your Dad” as my love letter to my three daughters - Simone, Jazzy & Tia. A record exec called me and I said “ahh you’re calling to tell me congrats on my song being #3. He said no, I’m calling to say congrats on your song becoming a “global top 10 hit”… that’s a better way to phrase it” Yup much better way to say it 🤣😎🎶 Every man wants a son, but every man NEEDS a daughter. I’m blessed beyond words to be my daughter’s dad and as I say in the song “a deeper love that I never knew, you took my heart and you pulled me through…” Amazing to see how this song has touched so many of you - because you live it as well. Shout to my co-writer and brother @Iam Tongi, for helping us bring our fatherly emotions together. I know what this song means to you too and one day we’ll sing the “other” version to our own dads who are in heaven when the time is right - in our hearts. Love you uso. #YourDad #VoicesAcrossTheOcean
5One of them is how deeply soul stirring, and heart aching this disease is as it grips so many of us. I’ve realized that it’s our most profound test of grace, to watch our loved one, slip away. And despite how protective, caring and loving our hands are, there’s nothing we can do. Except keep them as happy as we can. For as long as we can. My journey with writer/director Greg Kwedar has already been life changing. A deepening bond through the experience of this disease, that will live far beyond this film. Thank you brother. And thank you to Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and @Artists Equity for being there for Greg and I. Embracing our project, and embracing this subject with unconditional love and humanity. Shoulder to shoulder. May the sunspots guide us. We look forward to sharing this with all of you. FREE BYRD
Thanks for all the cool questions lately about my training/diet/conditioning and why I slimmed down for my current role I’m filming now (Benny Safdie’s Lizard Music). I took almost a year to lose approximately 50lbs - from stepping on set to film, “The Smashing Machine” weighing 282lbs, to my current weight today - 235lbs. Last time I was this weight, was my freshman football season at University of Miami. I was a little “light in the ass”, for a defensively tackle, but still a monster 👹😉 At this current weight and body composition, I’ve never felt better - strength, endurance, cardiovascular, metabolic health, inflammation, joints, insulin sensitivity, stress hormones, immune function, incredible pumps etc. I wanted to take my time, drop the weight in a smart, wise and healthy way - nothing extreme. I also focus on partitioning my carbs strictly around my training and tapering off from there. What’s also made a HUGE impact in my progress was completely cutting out all refined sugars. For an athlete who was constantly battling a calorie surplus 😂🙋🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ this move was transformative. Also keeping fat on the lower side as well. 50-60g daily. Appreciate all your great questions, hope this insight is helpful for your own journey. you vs. you
Post workout meal since I’m always on the go and don’t have time to sit down and eat. (approx 30-45min after training) - 75g protein powder (prototype I’m working on) - 1 cup blueberries - Ice - Stevia - 125g of carbs cooked jasmine rice Blend. Enjoy. Lots of great questions about my current training split, diet, cardio + conditioning. My current weight is 232-235lbs and holding conditioning very nicely. I took a full year to drop 50lbs for my current role I’m shooting now (Benny Safdie’s “Lizard Music”). Wanted to be strategic and wise about the weight cut and not implement anything extreme. My high carb days (approx 450grams carbs) fall on my 2 leg days + Sun and my low/medium carb days (250-300g) fill out the rest of the week. Feel phenomenal at this weight, strength, endurance, pumps with training are all fantastic- cardiovascular is excellent and holding conditioning nice and tight. Of course my muscle fullness fluctuates through the week with lower carb days, but nothing a few pre workout rice cakes, honey and pinch of salt can’t fix 😋 💪🏾

#prototype
#protein
Fam - wanted to give you a quick tour of the brand new IRON PARADISE ⚔️ I’ll give you guys another proper tour once it’s 💯 complete, but for now here’s the cliff notes version 😉💪🏾 Enjoy…. IRON PARADISE 10.0 3 years to build. Devil’s in the details. My sacred sanctuary ~ where progress, peace and “no mind” is chased daily. Some construction + architectural details for ya that you’ll appreciate ~ I wanted everything exposed so it had that industrial grit feel because it’s time to work 👍🏾 🏗️ Clear open structure for mana + energy to flow. Vaulted ceiling with giant fan and cupola windows and screens for air flow. No interior columns. Exposed metal roofing. Exposed structural steel beams. Exposed ducts & HVAC system. Exposed conduits and electrical outlets. All walls corrugated black steel. Custom steel doors and windows. Steel accents at all baseboard and door/window openings. “StarFire” mirrors 🔥🪞 heyyyyyyyy 🦵🏾😂 Stainless steel kitchen. Old school hot rocks sauna. Red light therapy. ** Thumpin’ sound system calibrated with four exposed ceiling speakers and four floor mounted big ass subs 😈 (music must come correct;) At the heart of the Iron Paradise is my daily reminder of the Japanese philosophy called Mushin - “mind, no mind” (flow state). In the center and the grounding of the entire gym is the Japanese Ensō ~ the beauty and power of life’s imperfections, and the truth that we never have to be perfect to be WHOLE — and the incomplete Ensō is the reminder that in life, there’s always room for growth and progress. And that’s the challenge I chase these days ~ progress and peace. Hope you enjoyed the tour, have a kick ass week and keep chasing your own progress and peace. And chase carbs too. Carbs are our friend 😜 Huge salute of respect and gratitude to our General Contractor and builder, MARK DREXLER & ASSOCIATES. We’ve worked for years now on my Iron Paradise sanctuary and our entire Johnson property. There’s no one better. Thank you Mark and your team for seeing our “vision” through in a very cool and special way. #IronParadise 10.0 #mysanctuary #mytherapist #sweatequity #grit
I’m inspired to build Project Rock to new levels. Embrace the hard things. Control the controllables. Chase the challenges. Grind is the process, but GRIT is the appetite. New partnership, new chapter, new north star ⭐️ Coming soon. #ProjectRock
College is back, baby!🔥 Our PAPATUI trucks pulled up on campuses across the country and surprised my guys with big PAPA buckets for them to stock up all semester 👊🏾 Study hard ✔️ Train hard ✔️ Party hard ✔️ While you’re at it you may as well… Look good Smell good Feel good 🚿🧼🧴 Good luck this year, boys and reminder these wise words from Uncle Rock — I got an atrocious .7 GPA 👀 my first semester at Miami - but then got my ass into gear and eventually became academic captain of the team. It ain’t how you start, it’s how you finish. Enjoy your PapaTui! @Amazon @Papatui #1
Not reinventing the wheel here, but started blending my rice with my protein powder for a fast digesting pre workout. Usually I do the old school Cream of Rice (orange box) which has always been the staple but this blended jasmine rice change up works great too. By the time I get to my first round of working sets I’m ready to go. Good to add to your rotation, give it a shot and lemme know. (my intra shake I sip on throughout my training is usually 50g dextrin carbs + 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt + EAAs + 275-300mgs caffeine + 10g creatine) See ya in the Iron Paradise 🫵🏾
