BY RHONA XWhat an absolutely fantastic morning at the Mums and Tots Awards! I am beyond honoured and emotional to have been chosen as Mum of the Year. As I said in my speech today... Do I think I'm the best mum in the world? Absolutely not. Do I have all my shit together? Not a chance! Do I have days when I'm overwhelmed, exhausted and wondering how I'm going to get through the day? Absolutely! But... Am I my children's biggest advocate? 100%. Will I fight for them, stand up for them and make sure their voices are heard? Every single time. Will I push them to believe in themselves, even when the world tells them they can't? Absolutely. Do I remind them every single day how strong, capable, beautiful and amazing they are? You bet I do. And will I continue to be the strength behind them until they recognise the incredible strength they have within themselves? For as long as I live. Because that's what motherhood means to me. It's not about raising perfect children or being a perfect mother. It's about raising children who believe in themselves, who know their worth and who have the confidence to stand tall in a world that won't always make things easy for them. My greatest achievement will never be what I do for my children. It will be watching them realise what they can do for themselves. So today, I proudly accept this award. Not because I'm a perfect mum, because there's no such thing. But because I will never stop being the strength behind my children's strength. And to every mum out there who is exhausted, doubting herself or wondering if she's doing enough... You don't have to be a perfect mum to be an incredible one. Thank you so much to Mums and Tots for this wonderful honour. It means more than you'll ever know.
