BY RHONA X31 DAYS OF DOWN SYNDROME 💙💛 DAY 2 💛💙 IF I COULD GO BACK TO THE DAY MOLLY WAS BORN, I’D TELL MYSELF THIS… Don’t be afraid of her future. Day 2 of my 31 Days of Down Syndrome, and today I wanted to show you a little bit of Molly’s journey. From that tiny baby in my arms, through everything she has faced and overcome, to the 10-year-old standing in front of me today. There have been challenges. There have been moments I worried about things that hadn’t even happened yet. But there has also been so much laughter, mischief, determination, achievement, friendship, fun and ordinary family life. And now? She’s growing into this incredibly confident, independent young lady who knows exactly who she is – and usually exactly what she wants! Her life isn’t a story of Down syndrome. It’s Molly’s story. Down syndrome is simply one part of it. And at 10 years old, there are still so many chapters she hasn’t even written yet. If I could speak to the Rhona holding that little baby all those years ago, I think I’d simply say: “Stop trying to see the whole road ahead. Just love her, believe in her and let her show you who she’s going to become.” Because her diagnosis was never going to write her story. She was.
