RAGHAVCan’t Get Enough was my debut solo single.. to this date I remain horrified by my dancing in the video, and have a bone to pick with whoever invented YouTube, that turned something that should have died off of MTV in a few months into something that lives in infamy… forever. I wrote this song on my own in my student accommodations in Liverpool, and then did a demo session with my wonderful friend Hakon Lundby to add my idea for the sample from the great OP Nayyar song my mom and dad would play on cassette tape in the car since as early as I can remember anything in life.. Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar from the great film Aar Paar.. originally in my demo I had ended it with a reverse cymbal crescendoing into a line from the song Sun Sun Sun Sun Zalima.. but I spared the legal department at my record label having to clear two samples in one record.. we had a pretty special demo.. but that demo turned into a record when I met Mushtaq who sprinkled the ingredients on this song that would spark a decades lasting creative relationship, that is as strong as ever today and has produced a soundtrack of songs for multiple generations, with many more to come. I’m so proud of this song, but beyond the prideI have in the success that it’s lived for over 20 years in people’s hearts, is the joy that through the collaborations on it with Mushtaq and the legendary Iceberg Slimm.. I’ve been able to celebrate its place in history with friends who have become closer than family. The greatest gift of all.. 🙏🏾..
