MERIT BeautyFun fact — before it was The Minimalist, our perfecting complexion stick was actually called The Editor. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the trademark, so we pivoted. What didn’t change, however, was the inspiration behind its design. At a time when full-coverage liquid foundations were at their peak, we wanted something we could use to make small edits on the go and immediately fell in love with the simplicity of a ballpoint pen. The slim, rounded tip was perfect for getting into those little places, like around the nose and under the eyes, so it was easy to create natural-looking coverage — only where we needed it. It took three years of product development, but we like to think we nailed it.
