Jean Campbell - I’m Fine PodFor years, Cherif struggled to understand why his father hadn't been emotionally present during his childhood. It wasn't until he began making Scars, a film exploring the relationship between a grieving father and his son, that he started to see his own father's experience differently. Through storytelling, Cherif was able to recognise the grief his father had been carrying after losing his wife, and how that pain had shaped their relationship. What began as a way of processing his own loss became an unexpected path towards understanding, forgiveness and reconnection.
