Hamlin WeldingGot a bunch of aluminum laser welding practice in today. Thank you Tyson from Fine Iron for the tip about using .045" (1.2mm) 5356 aluminum wire. I bought a couple spools of the ones XTool sold on their website and it would bind up every 3 seconds. Switching to that wire made the world of difference. The wire feeder didn't bind once! I laser welded all day between making these sand spikes and on bunch of 1/16" wall aluminum tubing and it worked like a dream. The frame had such little heat distortion compared to what TIG welding it would've done. Time under the hood is the only way to get better at it! Anybody, drop your best aluminum laser welding tips, please! I'm running the 1200W XTool MetalFab. #welding #laserwelding #xtool #metalfabrication #fyp
