The rule I give every single patient: one pea-sized amount for the entire face. Not per cheek, not per area. The whole face. Tretinoin doesn't work by saturation… the receptor sites in your skin cells can only bind so much at once. #tretinoin #retinol #antiaging #wrinkles #skincaretips
#DifferinPartner I've recommended @@differin for years, so I'm kind of ELATED to finally be able to talk about Differin Epiduo, which is now OTC for acne @Amazon ! 🙌🏽 Comment "ME" if you have acne and want the link, and drop your questions in the chat! #DifferinEpiduo #acne #acnetreatment #benzoylperoxide

7Crepey décolletage or chest skin Caused by UV collagen breakdown, not just aging Use a body retinol with peptides like @Gold Bond Retinol Overnight Apply nightly, always wear body SPF the next morning Sparse brows or beard Rogaine 5% minoxidil foam applied with a spoolie Small amount, daily use, results in a few months Toxic to pets, @PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash 4% benzoyl peroxide Apply in shower, leave on 2 to 3 minutes rinse off Flaky red patches around brows, hairline, or nose Likely seborrheic dermatitis, not dry skin Use a dandruff shampoo like Nizoral @head&shoulders or @CeraVe antidandruff as a face wash Follow for more no bs skincare tips and drop your q’s in the comments #skincaretips #hygiene #acnetips #dandruff #hairgrowthtips
Minoxidil works great for hair loss. Some dermatologists will pair minoxidil with a retinoid like tretinoin, and people are often surprised by that! The reason is that tretinoin can increase skin cell turnover and improve penetration. In some cases, this may help minoxidil absorb more effectively into the scalp. #hairloss #alopecia #minoxidil #hairgrowth #hairgrowthjourney

8Sometimes the trendy procedures aren’t the ones you should be going for. All this is to say, none of these are essential procedures and I do advocate healthy aging. Just sharing some things that I get asked about a lot and that can make your aesthetic journey a bit more informed should you chose. Retinol is one of those ingredients I’ll recommend over and over as a dermatologist. #OlayPartner I loveee that the Retinol 24 Night Repairing Cream by @Olay Skin Care is also stacked with peptides in a fragrance-free formula 👏 #RetinolReveal #skintexture #skincaretips #dermatologist

Comment NECK and I’ll send you a guide on your neck care routine. The décolletage ages faster than almost anywhere else and it's almost entirely because people stop at the jaw. Same sun exposure, significantly thinner skin, fewer sebaceous glands for natural moisture — and typically zero tretinoin, zero vitamin C, zero SPF applied below the chin. The patients who consistently look younger than their age are almost always treating the neck and chest the same way they treat the face. #skincareroutine #skincaretips #neckcareroutine #dermatologist #skincareproducts
The scar is not changing because the problem isn't pigment. A scar is structural, so the dermis was damaged and didn't fully rebuild. No brightening ingredient can fix that #darkspots #acnescars #acnescartreatment #acne #dermatologist
This before and after gave me a few things to talk about. @Kiehl's Since 1851 #KiehlsPartner #collagen #skincareproducts #weightloss #glp1
Post-acne marks on the body can linger for years, and the biggest reason is that UV exposure keeps restimulating melanin production and (almost) nobody applies SPF to their back or chest consistently. #acnescars #acnescartreatment #acnetips #skincareroutine #dermatologist
If your dark spots aren’t fading with even diligent SPF use (which you need!), It’s because there’s more to hyperpigmentation than just the sun! ㅤ #darkspots #hyperpigmentation #skincaretips #skincareproducts #acnescars
Collagen powder isn't useless. It just probably wouldn't be my first anti-ageing investment. Some studies do suggest collagen peptides can lead to improvements in skin hydration and elasticity, but the evidence is not strong. So before spending $$$ trying to build more collagen, focus on protecting the collagen you already have. Drop your questions in the chat! #collagen #antiaging #glowingskin #supplements #dermatologist
Sun damage is the biggest driver (and hopefully most people know that!) But these four are doing real damage quietly. Glycation is the most underrated, when glucose binds to collagen and elastin it forms advanced glycation end products that make the tissue stiff and brittle. That process is not reversible topically. Chronic elevated cortisol activates enzymes that degrade collagen, which is why people who've been through extended difficult periods often notice their skin looking different afterward. And the jaw line one is simple: your neck and chest get the same UV and none of your skincare. #longevity #skinaging #skincaretips #dermatologist
