On the reformer, the springs and moving carriage change the challenge—and can offer support or resistance. That’s the beauty of modern mat and modern reformer Pilates. The movement may look the same, but understanding why it feels different makes you a better mover and a better instructor. On the reformer, the strap adds a pull through your raised arm. Your shoulder has to control that pull while your trunk resists being drawn out of position. The moving carriage adds another balance demand. The mat version asks you to hold your balance and position against gravity. At bod., we teach both—and the why behind each one. 🤎 bod. | modern Pilates education
