Anxiety FitnessWhat happens to your anxiety level when you DON’T ESCAPE a panic attack? Will it just go up forever? Go my bio to join live workshops from me and qualified mental health professionals and meet other people who understand. When panic builds and you escape, your anxiety spikes fast and then drops the second you get out. It feels like leaving saved you. The problem is the lesson your brain takes from it: that the situation was dangerous and that escaping is what kept you safe. So that moment becomes a point of terror you carry into next time, and it grows, because you never got to find out what would have happened if you had stayed. You assume it would have just kept climbing. It would not have. Your nervous system physically cannot hold peak panic forever. When you stay, you get to see what actually happens: anxiety rises, hits a ceiling, sits there for a while, and then slowly comes back down on its own, without you escaping. Every time you let that happen, you show yourself that the wave passes, and that it was never as catastrophic as the anticipation made it feel. If panic is affecting your daily life, a therapist can help you work through this safely and at your own pace.
