Anxiety FitnessGo to the link in @anxiety_fitness’s page for my live anxiety Q&A. A lot of anxiety symptoms don’t look like “anxiety”… which is why they catch people off guard. Here are 5 really common ones I see all the time: - Random wooshes from nowhere That sudden wave through your body or drop feeling can feel like something’s wrong. It’s often a surge of adrenaline moving through your system. - Numbness & tingling Pins and needles in your hands, face, or body can be linked to breathing changes and heightened nerve sensitivity during anxiety. - Nausea & bloating Your gut is directly connected to your nervous system. When anxiety is high, digestion slows or becomes disrupted, leading to nausea or bloating. - Zoning out / brain fog Feeling spaced out or not fully present is your brain trying to protect you from overwhelm. It’s uncomfortable, but very common. - Skipped beats That flutter or “missed” beat can feel scary. In many cases, it’s a harmless ectopic beat made more noticeable by anxiety and hyper-awareness. These symptoms can feel random, intense, and confusing. But they’re not random. They’re patterns your body has learned. And once you understand them, they become a lot less frightening. If you want to understand anxiety properly (and ask me anything about it), I’m hosting a live Q&A on Anxiety Fitness to celebrate the launch of my new book Same Time Next Week? 23rd April 7pm UK time Important: this is general information, not medical advice. If you’re unsure about symptoms or experiencing something new or concerning, it’s always best to speak to a medical professional.
