Anxiety FitnessReplying to @QuirkyInspector TW: extreme panic attack. A huge misconception is that panic attacks are ‘just feeling worried’ but they actually involve overwhelming physiological changes that can completely alter your perception and ability to reason. Your brain is causing a flood or stress hormones to be released that cause your body to go into fight or flight, the amygdala takes over and your frontol lobes which are used for rational thinking are essentially turned off for the duration while you are in a state of amygdala hijack or fight or flight. You can have 100 panic attacks, and still have another even though you know how they work, because panic is a hijacking of your nervous system and mind, in an attempt to save your life from a danger thats isn’t there. That’s why some people feel they need to call an ambulance, because the symptoms mimic those of heart attack, stroke etc, and in the moment with the flood of adrenaline, cortisol etc, they are unable to reason themselves out of it.
