Anxiety FitnessLet's debunk these catastrophic thoughts: 1. 'I'm having a heart attack' - Chest pain during panic is common, and usually muscle-related, not heart-related. Palpitations are a normal part of the fight-or-flight response. Always get checked out by a doctor to rule out underlying conditions! 2. 'I can't breathe' - Hyperventilation makes you feel breathless, but it's actually due to an excess of oxygen from rapid breathing NOT because you’re not getting oxygen. 3. 'I'm about to faint' - Dizziness and distorted vision can result from over-breathing, but fainting is generally unlikely due to increased blood pressure during panic attacks, whereas fainting happens from a sudden drop in blood pressure. 4. 'I'm losing control' - The fight-or-flight response can be intense, but it's a normal physiological reaction to perceived threat. You're not losing control, your body is responding as designed. 5. 'I need to escape' - The urge to escape is a part of our primal survival mechanism. Escaping the situation without letting the panic subside on its own can actually lead to worse anxiety in the future, as it reinforces the false belief that you would have been in danger if you stayed in that situation. #fyp #foryou #anxiety #anxietydisorder #anxietyrelief #anxietytips #panicattack #anxietyattack #anxietyawareness #panicdisorderawareness
