Ami VitaleCounting down the days until International Panda Day with these adorable cubs! πΌπ Born blind, nearly hairless, and just 1/900 the size of their mother, panda cubs start life as tiny, squeaky bundles of vulnerability. But donβt be fooled, these little giants grow fast. Undergoing an astonishing growth spurt, they balloon from four ounces to four pounds in a month. Panda cubs are among the fastest-growing mammals on the planet. Once fully grown, they reach up to six feet in length, with females weighing around 220 pounds and males up to 250. But giant panda cubs are incredibly rare and notoriously difficult to raise and breed in captivity. In the 1960s, only 30% of infant pandas born at breeding centers survived. Today, thanks to groundbreaking conservation efforts, that number has skyrocketed to 90%β-a true conservation success story!
