Ami VitaleI am excited to share that on January 14th, I will be traveling to East Lansing, Michigan to @Michigan State University’s @Wharton Center for Performing Arts. My talk, Wild Hope, will be about inspiring stories of innovation and resilience in the natural world. Michigan holds a special place in my heart, as it is where my roots run deep. My maternal grandparents, who were a pivotal influence in my upbringing, raised my mother and her siblings in Michigan, and I have fond memories of spending summers there as a child. My grandfather, a hardworking man of Polish descent, had a remarkable journey from working on the Hoover Dam as a teenager to ultimately becoming the Post Master General in Detroit. I was so proud of him and knew his work was a vital lifeline for Americans. His tales of resilience have inspired me and fueled my passion for storytelling. As I prepare to return to Michigan, I am filled with nostalgia and gratitude for the impact this community has had on my life. I look forward to honoring the legacy of my grandfather and sharing an unforgettable evening with the audience. Thank you for the opportunity to connect with you all in a place that holds such significance in my personal history and thank you to Changemaker Talent for bringing me home.
