Vivian | Your Rich BFFWe were girls together. The greatest present I received during my wedding was the presence of all of the women who made me who I am today. My mom, my mentor, and all of the women I call my best friends. Whether it’s the time C tutored me to a barely passing grade in Physics, E set up an Easter Egg hunt for all of the roomies, or when J and I cried and shared memories the night before college graduation, all of my most formative moments were shaped by these incredible people. To honor their contribution to my life and me, I did not want to burden anyone with bridesmaid duties or a tacky dress they’d never wear again. I had just one request: wear a red dress. A new one you go out and buy, one you already own, or maybe even a piece borrowed from another friend. It was a tribute to my Chinese heritage and a testament to the fact that blood is thicker than water, but sometimes, we choose our own blood. We were girls together.
