Same Same But DifferentNEW OLD DATES! WHAT HAPPENED?! We Want To Tell You! In 2025, we’re committed to being more transparent with our community about what it takes to run an independent festival. With so many beloved festivals shutting down, we feel a responsibility to share the realities behind the scenes. Our biggest challenge is navigating the ever changing festival landscape. Last fall, we made the tough decision to shift away from our usual weekend when a large, well-funded festival moved into Lake Perris on our dates. We adjusted accordingly, only to later learn that the same festival pivoted, moving back to their original site on the new weekend we were now booked for. This led to complications in our booking and production, and since our original weekend became available again, we made the difficult but necessary call to move back to September 26-28. This meant rebooking talent, restructuring plans, and taking on extra work to make sure SSBD stays the experience you know and love. We won’t lie—running an independent festival is a balancing act. Between rising costs, industry politics, and shifting landscapes, we’re constantly adapting. At the end of the day, this festival exists because of you. Your energy, your support, and your love for this community is what keeps us pushing forward. We hope this transparency helps you understand why these changes happen and we are excited to bring you along for the journey as this year continues.
