roywoodjrIn 1985, FAMU declined to pay a $3000 moving fee so Roger Cador could relocate his family while he coached baseball in Tallahassee. Southern Univ happily paid the fee and Coach Cador went on to win 900+ games over 32 seasons. Including 14 SWAC championships (a 4-Peat in the ‘90s), 11 NCAA Tournaments, 2 Black College championships . 30 of his players have seen pro ball at varying levels. There’s a reason Southern is called the Yankees of the SWAC, and a lot of that is because of 13 time SWAC coach of the year, Roger Cador. The difference $3000 makes.
