Ripley’sRobert Ripley once sparked a golf rivalry that made history. ⛳️ After losing his eyesight in a 1924 tire explosion, Clint Russell began playing blind golf. By 1930, he had shot an impressive 84 over 18 holes. In 1932, Ripley featured Russell as “the world’s only blind golfer.” Six years later, Ripley published a similar story about Dr. Beach Oxenham of London. To settle the score, Ripley sponsored the first Blind Golfers Championship in 1938. Russell defeated Oxenham 5 and 4 at Ridgeview Country Club in Duluth, Minnesota. #Ripleys #BION #RipleysBelieveItorNot #BelieveItorNot
