PromoWest ProductionsEpisode 2 of Showmaker: The Nevertold Stories of Rock ‘n’ Roll dives into the wild story behind #NewportMusicHall. Before it became a rock ‘n’ roll temple, it was this close to disappearing forever. A gamble, a storm, and a whole lot of grit saved it—and made history along the way. ⚡ Melissa Etheridge singing through a total blackout—and creating a tradition still alive today. 🎶 Neil Young’s grand opening show, held together by sheer will (and a very empty wallet). 🌴 Why a Columbus venue had palm trees—and what they symbolized. 🎸 How OAR turned rejection into sold-out shows at The Newport. This is the story of how close calls and wild risks built America’s longest continually running rock club. Experience the chaos and magic at the link in our bio!
