natgeomuseumExcavating an ancient toilet 🤝 groundbreaking research It might not seem glamorous, but archaeologist and real-life National Geographic Explorer Caitie Barrett is researching a historic bathroom in Pompeii. Why? By studying what people did (and left behind) in the space, we can learn more about the rest of their daily lives, too. For example, it turns out that 2,000 years ago, they already had indoor plumbing — and there’s still so much we don't know! #History #Archaeology #Pompeii #RomanEmpire #AncientHistory
