natgeomuseumAt the National Geographic Museum of Exploration, sustainability is our very foundation โ literally! The millwork featured in the MOE was salvaged from a New Hampshire farm protecting its forest from the highly invasive Emerald Ash Borer beetle. Instead of letting all that lumber go to waste, we are proud to have given it a second home right in the heart of the MOE. ๐ Looking to be more sustainable in your daily life? We're here to help you get started with some simple steps that you can take right now. 1. If you're able to, try walking or cycling to work instead of taking your car. Or, you can even try carpooling. 2. Try a reusable water bottle for your next summer walk, or, reuse paper grocery store bags to make DIY decorations. 3. You can change the world from your backyard by helping clean up your local neighborhood, for example. Find a community cleanup near you! 4. Spending time in nature is one of the best ways to appreciate our planet and celebrate the work of our Explorers working to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world. Embrace the Explorer mindset and spend some extra time outside this summer. 5. Words are powerful. Simply speaking up and sharing what you love about the planet and how you protect it is an incredible way to encourage your community to do the same. #Museum #Sustainability #Nature #Conservation #SustainableLiving
