Commercial poaching killed more than 90 percent of black rhinos in Zimbabwe and across the rest of Africa, eventually leaving none in Matusadona National Park. More than 30 years after officials and conservationists worked to rescue the remaining rhinos in the Zambezi Valley, descendants of those animals have returned to the park. Photographer Marcus Westberg documented their return—and quieter moments as they rested throughout the day. Learn more about efforts to save the black rhinos at the 🔗 in bio.
