yenah ๐ ๐ปCelebrating Koreaโs National Liberation Day with Hwatu Nails! ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ท๐ด Hwatu (ํํฌ, a type of Korean playing cards) may have entered Korea through Japanese merchants in the late 1800s and carried traces of colonial influence, but over time, it became something uniquely Korean. Banned after liberation in 1945 for its โJapanese aesthetic,โ it nevertheless returnedโtransformed in material, meaning, and identity. Today, Hwatu stands as a cultural classic that reflects resilience, adaptation, and Koreaโs ability to reclaim and grow from its past. I wanted to capture that same resilience and transformation through nail art, honoring its journey from colonial remnant to cultural treasure. Happy Gwangbokjeol (๊ด๋ณต์ )! โค๏ธ๐ ๐ท๏ธ #nails #nailinspo #nailtutorial #koreannails #gwangbokjeol
