And is it normal if they stop? There's actually a reason for all of this! Let's talk about what's happening to your milk supply. Your milk production starts increasing after those first days of colostrum. Your breasts may feel heavy, swollen, and FULL! Your body is still adjusting to making milk! You might leak when you're full, hear your baby cry, or experience a letdown. Some moms never leak, and that's normal too! Your supply may start feeling more regulated. Your breasts might feel softer, you may leak less, and you might not wake up feeling as full. Softer breasts don't automatically mean less milk. Your body is learning to match your baby's needs! Prolactin, the hormone that helps your body make milk, is generally higher overnight. That's one reason nighttime pumping or nursing can help establish your supply. Leaking doesn't mean oversupply, and NOT leaking doesn't mean low supply! Your baby's weight gain and wet diapers tell you much more about whether they're getting enough milk. Did you notice your breasts getting softer after those first few weeks? #babybuddha #breastfeedingtips #pumpingmom #milksupply #postpartum
