Milly💜!Somebody’s gotta hold it down in motherhood and I volunteer🙋🏾‍♀️ Stay with me… Unpopular opinion: I think we’re starting to lose the plot with the childfree conversation. Being childfree is a completely valid choice. So is choosing motherhood. But somewhere along the way, parts of the conversation stopped being “women should be free to choose” and started sounding like women who want children are less intelligent, less ambitious, trapped, or somehow made the wrong choice. How did women having choices turn into women judging each other for making different ones? Having children doesn’t guarantee fulfilment or financial security. Being childfree doesn’t guarantee freedom, wealth or a fabulous life either. They’re simply different choices. You can love your childfree life without belittling motherhood. I can love being a mother without believing every woman should become one. We don’t need to make the same choices to respect each other’s choices.
