Millennial In DebtI met with Mayor Mamdani @Zohran Mamdani this week to discuss the resources available for New Yorkers during tax season. Any New Yorker who live or work in New York City and earns $97,000 or less annually (filing as a family) Or those who earn $68,000 or less annually and file as an individual (or couple without a dependent) can have their taxes filed for free. Services are available now at over 140 sites around the city. There are also volunteer providers that are equipped to connect filers with assistance for their questions about managing student loan debt. New Yorkers can visit nyc.gov/TaxPrep and use the interactive map to search for the most convenient free tax site near them Last year the free tax prep initiative completed 110,000 saving New Yorkers an average of $346 in tax preparation fees per return (approximately $38.2 million citywide.)
