Millennial In DebtEven though I started investing for retirement in 2011, I didn’t open a Roth IRA until October 2020. At the time I felt really behind, especially because at that point I was already creating financial content online. So I was trying to play catch up. In doing so, I didn’t realize that I could’ve put even more money towards my 2020 contributions instead of jumping right into my 2021 contributions. Do I think about that error from time to time? Of course I do. But I remind myself.. just like I’m about to remind you At least I started! Yeah the fully maxed out $6,000 invested would be worth more than the $1,500 But… the $1,500 is going to be worth more than $0 invested. Hindsight is 2020, but focusing on progress not perfection is what will help get you one step closer to financial freedom. What’s a money mistake you’ve made that has taught you a much greater lesson? . . . . . . . . #millennialindebt #moneymistakes #rothira #retirement #investing #howtoinvest #investing101 #retirement #personalfinance #financialeducation #financialliteracy
