Millennial In DebtMy career newsletter fam is finishing up the interview question series from May and next month we’ll be covering the ins and outs of resumés ! (link in b/0 to join for free) Most resume bullet points start with the same typical words hiring managers read over and over. Many of the original words also don’t do much to show off your accomplishments. Instead they tend to just communicate your job duties. Next time you update your resume, switch up a few of those common words and phrases with stronger compelling action AND tie them in to a specific outcome / reusult (the more metrics the better) Talk about how you contributed to the company, as opposed to what you did day to day [Example: ‘increased profitability by X%’ or ‘implemented new system for X, which resulted in X% increase in efficiency’ This helps your potentially employer get a good sense of how you could potentially contribute to their organization.
