Lucas Museum of Narrative ArtArtist Joey Terrill has spent his career crafting work centered around the Los Angeles community he calls home. Here, he shares the story behind Chicos Modernos, a Spanish-language comic distributed in the late 1980s and 90s to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS prevention. The Lucas Museum is proud to house Chicos Modernos in our inaugural exhibition as one of the many graphic stories crafted to inspire and forge community. Come view this original comic and more in our galleries when we open to the public on September 22, 2026. #LucasMuseum #JoeyTerrill #pride #pridemonth #comics
