LitchiI am simply in awe . This is to the unsung heroes, the unspoken, untold, untouched, unorthodox stories of African creatives who went against the grain, weren’t born into opportunity, respected their authenticity and never gave up. Thank you GOD . Thank you mom for allowing me to embark on this journey and your constant support. To the machine behind me as a brand and to my friends / family / colleagues who inspire me daily. Thank you SA for your unwavering support & love. Thank you Standard Bank Arts & The National Arts Festival committee for considering me for this prestigious award. I’m honoured to me mentioned in a lineage of powerful artists, in their respective disciplines, that paved the way. Also really excited to embark on this journey and having the opportunity to express my truth. May the legacy live on.
