Lang LangEvery city has its own rhythm. In Istanbul, I found mine between two continents. I came to Istanbul for a very special evening at Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, bringing together music, culture and gastronomy. From a Mid-Autumn, Festival-inspired Afternoon Tea and an intimate piano performance to a multi-course Cantonese dinner created by Shang Palace’s Head Chef Cheng Lu. But my journey went far beyond that evening. Waking up to the Bosphorus, enjoying a sumptuous breakfast with everything from Turkish favourites to dim sum, then taking the ferry just steps from the hotel feeding the seagulls along the way, with Turkish tea and simit in hand. I wandered through hidden corners, discovered local flavours and experienced the warmth and character of a city where East meets West at every turn. A short stay, but one filled with wonderful memories.
