KraveBeautywhat happens when a group of skincare brands stop competing and start building together? 🫶🏼 this world algae day, we’re taking you along on our trip to Alaska with Kelp CoLab, a program that brings beauty brands together with the ocean farmers who grow kelp-based ingredients 🌾 we got to see sugar kelp lines pulled straight out of the water, and it was honestly one of the coolest things we’ve ever witnessed 👀 this kelp is seeded in the fall, grows through the cold alaskan winter and is harvested in the spring. it can grow a few centimeters a day, all without land, freshwater or fertilizer 🩵 the best part was meeting the people behind it. many of these farms are small and family-run, often by local fishermen who’ve added kelp as a second crop to their season. knowing exactly where an ingredient comes from (and who grows it) is something we care deeply about 💚 at KraveBeauty, we’ve never been afraid to collab with brands who share our values. and we’re always asking the same question: how can we use what already exists in excess instead of making more? turns out kelp does exactly that, soaking up excess nitrogen and carbon from the water as it grows ✨ spending time alongside other brands who could easily be seen as competitors reminded us that we go further together. collaboration over competition, always 🫶🏼 more to share soon, so follow along to see what we do next 👀 #WorldAlgaeDay @greenwaveorg @Macro Oceans
